Which company do you use for dial up internet?

Which telephone company do you think offer the lowest monthly fee for a phone servise which you can use for your dial up internet. My current company charge me over $70 a month /just for the phone service, I pay for the internet separately/ and I think that this is madly expensive. Any suggestions? I live in the central US.

Copper. net and netzero are good options - lot of services available by googling.

70 a month is highway robbery!

zea1177 12-14-2012 03:36 AM

I using google non stop.

But you didn't understand my question. I have a great dial up internet provider. The thing is that I don't have a good phone company to use my dial up internet with. Any suggestions?

Before send me to google again...I've done a re-search and there are bunch of companies and before I try another one I need an advice if they are cheaper and better than mine.

When I signed up for their unlimited local and long distance /$30 a month which was great.
Nobody told me that this is for voice calls only, not for internet /and it was written nowhere!!!.

So if I want to use their phone services for internet dial up I have to pay $70 a month, which I am. I am not happy about paying that much extra.

Ah I understand - you are talking about a LANDLINE provider....sorry I was not clear based on what you said.

I dont have any worthy info then - I use a Canadian phone line provider - about 30 a month for unlimited long distance north america.

.

Have you spoken to their Customer Service?

Whilst it is the responsibility of a new account holder to read all the fine print, sometimes companies try to fool customers. What have you done in regards to this

Is it on contract?

:spy:

Yes, they told me that I should read the fine print when I ordered the service - it was for voice calls only. The thing is that I made the order over the phone. I can stop this phone service right now if I want to, I don't have a contract. The thing is that I can't find any suitable company in the area which provides good phone service which I can use for my my dial up.

Phone providers still largely have a monopoly. VOIP requires you to have a high speed connection already so that is a no go. For most of the country LAN lines are still controlled by territory. They are a Dinosaur but it is often hard to get a different provider. As like Cable companies they own the lines and the infrastructure.

All will charge more because less people are asking for these now - more businesses tend to ask for new lines.

I don't Ebay so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I use NetZero so-called High Speed and it sucks. I ONLY use it to create PayPal accounts and to refund and withdraw funds.

It takes 1 -2 minutes to load a simple page with little graphics.

For PP, yes.

If I was trying to use for Ebay, hellllllllllllllllllll no!

Who do you get your TV service from? Most providers offer steep discounts for buying service bundles from them like phone, tv, internet and wireless. If you are out in the boondies internet is available via satellite now. I have AT&T and they offer sattelite internet for $55/mo.

If you have a wireless phone You should probably check if your plan allows you to tether your pc. Verizon offers that for $20/mo I think t-mobile is only $10/mo extra.
