(1) On your old IP, reading a Yahoo Mail account that receives notifications regarding the new eBay account (the usual "you listed an item", "member has a question about item #XXX", etc.)

Conditions: separate windows user account, cookies turned off, images off, flash off, no similarities in email address, do not track turned on -- but same IP address as that of old ebay account JUST FOR reading the email only. I don't log onto the other ebay account or click any links to ebay using this IP)

(2) Same as (1) but you use Yahoo Mail to respond to ebay member communications (eBay generates random throwaway emails for member-to-member communications, so that you don't have to be logged into your ebay account to respond to them - you can do so directly from your email) ?

- Yahoo Mail exposes sender IP addresses in headers

- Member reply-to addresses are obscured by <some random string>@members.ebay.com, it doesn't reveal their actual email address but instead gets sent to ebay and then ebay forwards the email to the member's real email

1) is no if you have turned off all beacons and images - 2) is yes especially if yahoo exposes IP and that could be flagged.

Yea, I learned this the hard way a long time ago. Gmail is preferred for stealth accounts.

Gmail is nice indeed - or keep each account separate and just use dedicated e-mail addresses.
