Activity: 0% Longevity: 72% | | eBay is actually not that bad
I know everyone here has a love and hate relationship going on with eBay. However, I just had one of the rare satisfying customer service experience and thought I would share it.
I been selling with a stealth for about a week and I had over $1500 in gross sales. I know is stupid to sale so much so soon but I thought I would take advantage of the holidays shopping.
Anyways I got hit with the MC999 Action needed: Please contact eBay Customer Support yesterday and was resticted from selling. I called eBay this morning with intrepidation and not knowing what to expect. The rep was extremely helpful and only ask where did I get my items from. I made up some bull**** about buying a lot of stuff during Newegg and Walmart's Black Friday sales. The rep told me that made sense and immediately removed the restriction. Then she said that she noticed I was about to hit my selling limit (I had 6 left out of 100) and offered to increase the limit to 150.
I was stunned and left speechless. Not only I was able to get my restirction lifted without much effort, I got my limit increase without even asking for it. Lol I almost felt bad lying to her with the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ stealth account info.
I guess it is a hit and miss with eBay. If you get a good rep like I did, then you are golden. If you got a rep that's located in Asia and/ or had a bad day, then you are screwed.
Happy New Year Everyone!

Nice. You had a brand new stealth account with a 100 item limit?

what's sad though is that for ever 1 of these kind of stories about ebay, you will hear 200 stories about ebay and its employees screwing people without just cause.

After I made a seller's account, I got restricted immediately because they can't match the name with the address. I faxed over some docs and 2 days later got a message saying my selling limit was increased to 100. This was like 2 weeks ago, I let the account sit for 3 days and began to list new stuff. Maybe I'm just lucky this time lol.

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? Reading this story.
Makes me want to print out the eBay logo, frame it, hang it above the fireplace and look at it while I drink a warm cup of chocolate milk. Then, in the morning, I'll change my mind and smash it with a hammer. | The Following User Says Thank You to imjustme For This Useful Post: | |

Had a call yesterday that i answered.. oddly a sunday afternoon. She actually made me rethink my stealth making routine. . She called and said " Hello xxx " this is ebay, can i speak to you for a few mins? i bantered with her, as i have a cold and said sure, sorry i'm so sick sounding, she was nice. Anyhow, she says i want to verify some information first, can you tell me your ebay id? i quickly scrolled down to one of my many "johns" and decided to guess which one it was from... as i have many phones and i don't keep track of which phone is which and often times... i have 3-4 forwards for one phone. Anyhow, i answered her questions about ebay id and zipcode. She then proceeded to tell me they noticed some issues lately... (this account has had some issues recently with negs/cases) i said yes i am aware, i am working with the customers to resolve their concerns or deal with any problems. She said she was glad to hear i'm aware and working with the buyers to resolve their problems. I bs'd some other stuff, anyhow my point is...
For example if she asked for a "mike" , let's say i have 5 mikes, and i don't know phone # she called?
Anyhow i think the best idea is to have unique first names, since they call and speak to you on a first name basis to start.

This is one annoying thing about ebay, it all really depends on who you talk to, when you call you really dont know how its going to go.
