New accounts banned

i have 3 active stealth accounts that have been running 3+, 2+, 2+ months respectively.

I have had a string of new accounts get the MC999 shut down with 2 of them today. thanks for the new years surprise e b a y.

i know i break one rule in that i typically start selling and don't do any buying. my regiment is i open the account. do a lot browsing, ask some sellers some questions, etc. after a month or so, i ease into selling. It worked for my first few accounts. I trying to figure out if this is my primary problem.

The other think i wanted to ask was are DVDs considered high risk. i ask because I've been throwing a few on at .99 auctions because i have a ton and dont care what they sell for?

First question - when you say stealth - can you break down how you are setting the accounts up?

DVDs can be high risk but 0.99....not that bad.

But to be shut down 3+ and 2+ months after...you did something RECENTLY in my opinion. What category are your later listings?

Did you get the MC999 complete ban or call in within 48hrs? Lots of people recently have been getting the call in message and have had no problem getting them reinstated. I am told that is becoming pretty routine.

With regard to DVDs, they are super VERO. Are your items legit?

Type of DVD will play a part in this suspension notice. EG, Disney or otherwise.
Also interesting is the comment 'you dont care what they sell for'.......remote chance ebay might think of feedback manipulation.

Been a common ( but most annoying) suspension notice from ebay lately.
Most accounts can be saved. I hope you intend to try this.

i was under the impression if you get locked, to move on. should I be calling in on these?

To clarify, the 3+ and 2+ month accounts are open and running with out issue. its the new accounts i run into issues.

my process: make name > make a user acccount in windows> make a gmail> get an address > get a google voice #> make ebay account.

no, not the intention at all, nor was that listed in the listing.
i just meant, I have a ton of dvds lying around i need to get rid of vs inventory i've purchased to sell i need to make a profit on.

If you don't call in within 48 hours is it too late?

also, what do they ask you when you call in?
do you block the call # you are calling in on?

No, you have 72 hours which you will see when you actually log into the acct. What they ask will vary a bit at discretion of the rep - however in my experience they will want to know if your product is legit and also will ask you questions to verify your identity.

So have your stealth info in front of you. They will try to verify your phone number as well.

Good luck.

how will they verify your phone number? just asking or will they call?
do they ask for any personal info outside of what you gave them at sign up.

They will call to verify phone number.

Yes, the personal questions can be anything they get off the public info base.

Always sell yard sale or household crap as your first group of items on an new account.

Some of the notices have come out with 48 hours to contact ebay.

But when the user signed in, the time was in fact 72 hours....

is this a glitch? Not sure.

Your response is needed sooner rather than later.
