Has anyone else noticed a sharp decline in activity this week. My sales have literally dropped 50%. I do not know if it is the weather, high gas prices, outrageous electric bills, or falling stock market....
I would love to hear some other feedback. Also, does all the bad economic news have any of you worried?
Thanks,

The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
My sales are low as well. I sell purses and usually they fly as soon as they are listed. I think one of the reasons my sales are slow is because the summer is here and most women are not thinking about a new bag if they have children at home to keep busy. I believe the main reason my sales are slow is because Neiman Marcus, Bergdorfs, Saks and Barneys are having HUGE sales. Why buy in ebay when you can get a 2,000.00 bag for 5-700 at the above mentioned. Then again, I don't accept paypal now and I bet most buyers are turned off by that; not realizing they have more protection using cc's and not using paypal. If you have 2,000 buyer protection on your listing it helps to sell. Just try getting it though!
Its summer (slowest part of the year), the biggest economy in the world is suffering right now, high gas prices for everyone; price of food is skyrocketing, etc.
If what you're selling is a need you'll do well, if it's not you're going to see slower sells.
Yes. Owning a retail store for 3 years summer is the slowest time of year. Also factor in gas prices, and vacations. So unless you sell bikinis and suntan lotion, your sales are going to suck. Except this every summer. Then November and December you can sell used underwear and it will fly off the shelf as shoppers are buying xmas gifts.
Great quotes/replies everyone..it is just amazing to see such a drop in one week. I really think the low/bad economy is hurting everyone...
Most of the items, I sell appeal to the teenagers and young twenty somethings Even in tough economic times parents will continue to give their kids what they want...

PS - A gallon of water still cost 4 times a gallon of gas. A gallon of Starbucks coffee runs around 10 times a gallon of gas....I guess we might ought to drink tap water and make our own coffee.....
