New programs. !st and only way to stop non-paying bidders!

I found this today while surfing the net. It supposed to put a seal on your auctions to stop non-paying bidders by stating that collection efforts will be made on non-paying bidders...

The First and Only Service That Stops Non-paying Bidders

Wow... if you actually used that thing, you probably wouldn't have many positive feedbacks. Start collections against your buyers? wow...

JackNoMore 06-10-2007 11:10 AM

Interesting idea, but it still won't stop nonpaying bidders--though it might deter a few. The free trial might be worth a look though, as long as it comes with no strings attached. Thanks for the link CPU.

Yeah, it does assume a certain amount of distrust on the part of the "buyer" so you probably wouldn't get that many bids either.

CPUGEEK 06-10-2007 11:14 AM

But then it will also let buyers know that your a legit and serious seller which I think will give more bids

JackNoMore 06-10-2007 11:42 AM

Eh, you can do that in other ways though. The more I think of it, the less of a good idea I think it would be. There's a fine line between protective and being obnoxious and untrusting. This might just cross it. But like I said, it's worth a try, free and all.

requiring immediate payment stops non paying bidders does it not?

JackNoMore 06-10-2007 04:56 PM

It does, but it also requires you to link your paypal account. Although if you had a merchant account instead of paypal, that might just work?

You mean the buyer has to have a linked paypal to their ebay account. Not the seller.

JackNoMore 06-10-2007 06:33 PM

Right. That's what I was trying to say. The Buyer. However, if "you" as the seller have a merchant account, I have to wonder if that would help bring back some bidders not willing to link their accounts for paypal's sake. It's a thought to try anyway.

Immediate payment now doesn't work with Auctiva.

The collections thing requires it to be at least $50 and that the non pay bidder put real information in.
