UPDATE ON MC999 FROM EBAY ... call to verify account USA
 

Not sure if this post will help anybody as I'm sure there are other SIMILAR threads. However, I just thought i'd give a new different experience (sorta) for me. So here we go ...


I already have like 10 accounts but of course we know we need many more accounts because anything can happen at any time. So i create 4 more accounts ... all new info/vcc/vba. I do some browsing for the ebay bots. Next day I list an item on 2 accounts. Books/9.99 auction format.

Next day MC999 notices to give ebay a call and they removed my listings. I call ebay with note pad handy with all information. I tell them my name and details I had handy. Some of the details I did not have handy such as Middle name initial and birth date. OPPS! If I did enter a birthday somewhere. I forget to write it on my notepad. So I think swiftly and give her anything my mind could create in quickly. The ebay rep (lady) tells me they are doing this for ebay safety.

She also informs me on all new sellers they will get a MC999 notice from ebay so they can verify information. Anyway she tells me they are going to do a public record search and ask me some questions. So I'm at question 1 or 3 . Do you go by any of these names ... and i tell her "NO.. not that i'm aware of" then shes responds "OKAY" and moves on the question 2 ... .then i say " Well ... do you mind repeating the names from the previous question? I want to make sure I don't get anything wrong as I'd like to be an ebay seller" so she says ... "no problem let me go back here ....." fumbles around for a few seconds .

She then says ... "you know what. I can't find any records with your information so I'm just going to go ahead and lift the limits on your account. What were you planning on selling" So i tell her a few house hold items. She says "okay well you can go back to your account now and relist your item and your good to go!"

END OF STORY!

I wonder how I can trick them into giving me higher limits next time ... HMMMMMMMMMM :boink:

I have had limits removed/raised randomly without too much hassle either, you just need to get one of the lazy employees at ebay.. too bad you cant select them :P

Yeah. This is beginning to become the norm.

Usually, as long as you sound confident and treat the reps with respect, you are good to go. Its only when you get a rep that has a fight with their wife/husband/partner/boss/chipmunk/cant flush the toilet is when you have real issues. :smash:
