Letting accounts age

Do most of you stealth experts let new accounts age (30 days or so as the stealth guide suggests) before listing?

slim jim 01-22-2013 01:38 PM

the more you can age the better, it depends what you are selling. non risky products (like household items) can be listed right away in my opinion.

bruceuk 01-22-2013 02:12 PM

I List non risky used items of low value right away .
Sooner you can get away from the 21 day payment holds the better .

justj 01-22-2013 02:21 PM

on my last account listed 3 used kids movies and it got my account suspended... all i had to do was call and answer some questions but still a scare and a pain... any reason y you think they would do that? those seem low risk to me? reason i ask is i opened another account i want to get started with... its been up for 3 days.

Copyrighted material .. high risk on a fledgling account
Find some crap in your house to sell at first that doesnt have logos and such anywhere on it.

dhunter0294 01-22-2013 03:37 PM

Dvds are high risk on any account no matter the age

An another thing is I dont have that much household stuff just laying around to sell lol

Sandy D 01-22-2013 03:48 PM

Hit the yard sales!

I build solid accounts for the long haul by selling yard sale, box lot items from auctions etc.

I used to do that.

Now I vary the methods.

However I always sell with a fully verified & confirmed paypal.

Lots of stuff does.

Do the research, look at some items in the store and if you have a smart phone look them up using terapeak or ebay completed listings.

I bought an entire pallet of discontinued items from big lots the other day.

Money maker and account builder at the same time.

Go through your house and look at what you do not need. Used clothes do pretty well especially kids clothes.

If you have to ask that then you need to do your research. Gotta love people asking for help and laughing at the answers

Goodfella22 01-24-2013 02:29 AM

yes make one small sale and let it age after that

Speeder33 01-24-2013 03:15 AM

sell old dvds if you must, just make sure to take a picture, dont use stock photos

rsot 01-24-2013 11:14 AM

Wont say that I always wait 30 days but I will state that...as a personal rule...I will NOT sell on the same day I create the account or turn it into a seller account and sell on that same day.

bork_bork 01-25-2013 07:08 PM

FYI there is nothing wrong with losing a few $ to make a strong account with solid feedback

AmazonStealth 01-26-2013 01:47 AM

Letting accounts age, I believe is the biggest myth. You opened an account to use it, so do it, and do it in a smart realistic way. Start selling used or general personal and household items, after you get your limits raised a few times, dive into bulk selling. This is like saying you bought a new fast car and if you let it sit in the garage for a while will it help you from getting pulled over. Sure, but you arent getting anywhere.
