Getting a neg feedback removed?

I bent over back wards accepting a no hassle return for a customer. He wasn't receiving my FedEx email labels. I gave up and told him to just ship the item and ill refund his shipping also. Well, he didn't listen to my directions and sent a 400$ camera to my stealth address. Luckily, this is my old work, and the mail room has it waiting for me :)

The buyer sent me an email today requesting the refund because I received the package on the 18th. After researching this, I had mentioned that the package was returned to my "drop shipper" and that ill just need a few days to pick it up. I never once gave him a hard time....

He then opened a case up and left a neg. I refunded this guy as promised without having the package in hand. I asked him to reconsider the feedback as it wasnt warrant and that I never refused the refund or gave any hassles.

Is it worth going to ebay? My feedback went from 100% to 98.7% and if I get one more in the next year id prob lose my top rated status. I give ebay 300$ a month on this account and the 20% is nice. But I dont want a human over looking anything since this is a stealth. Any ideas?

You could go to mediation over it and MAYBE get it removed. I have never done this so I have nothing to say good or bad on this.

One method I have used before is the following:
1) Send a personal email and ask the buyer if he would consider removing the feedback (even though it may be hard to sound nice, it is worthwhile to keep on the positive side)
2) Give it 3 or 4 days, and if no response then follow up with a polite email asking if the buyer received the feedback
3) A number of times I have had the feedback removed by now, if not, offer the buyer something small of value (ie 10 or 15 bucks to remove the feedback)
4) If still no response after another 3 or 4 days, request the buyers information (they will get a notice that their information was given to you, and will often prompt a reply)

I have used that method a number of times and have used this to remove neg and neutral feedback a number of times.

Thanks, ill follow up in a day. I already issued the full refund, and sent another paypal payment of 18.71. 8.71 to cover his shipping back to me and a 10$ credit in hoping he removes the feedback. I sent him a request via ebay's feedback request removal program. Just ticks me off, argh!!! I was at 100%. Now, hes no where to be found after I issued the refund.
I cant live without email as he cant either, because earlier when he requested a a return we both kept responding asap. now hes MIA.

My plan was to ask for his phone number to discuss this, I forgot about requesting his info ;)

argh!!! He knows I did everything I could as he lied in his ebay dispute.... Im just lucky this 400$ return happend on this account since I have access to the paypal address. If it was another Id be out 400$:help:. And this is even after he ask me for my return address....

If this is only the first time time this has happened to you, consider yourself lucky and move on.

I have had buyers ASK ME to cancel transactions before I ship and then leave me negative feedback saying they never received the item.

When you deal with the public this sort of s****t happens....a lot. There are loads of psychos, crazies, weirdos, and scammers out there. You need to have a thick skin in this business or you will lose sleep and impact your health.

There is not much you can do about the negative feedback. I would however, report the buyer to eBay and tell your side of the story. If the buyer begins to have a history of poor behavior they will suspend the account. I disagree much with how eBay is run I can go on rants for hours but at-least now as of the last few months you can report a crummy buyer and if there are enough complaints hopefully they get booted.

..

Request all his info now. Get that phone number.

Do not delay on replies to emails etc.

Try the phone number asap.

Should the buyer be MIA assume the phone number is not working etc, contact ebay & report him. Strike now ....now ;)
