Classic : I ordered 2 but I only received one!

Hi Guys,

I get hit for this alot - anyone else get this ? I sell alot of cables so stick 2 or 3 in 1 jiffy bag etc.

I'm trying to look after my feedback so i don't argue and offer a refund or replacement - i normally assume the buyers that take the refund are the scammers and the ones that want a replacement are legit and ive cocked up!

Is posting the items out separately the answer - i don't always send them recorded so they can just turn round and say 'oh ive only received one' but i send proof of postage so at least i can claim back etc.

Do you have any tactics that can help me cut down on this?

Unfortunately without 2 delivery confirmations, there's nothing you can do.

I think the only way is you send each item separately with delivery confirmations.

BUt then you'll have to think about your losses and gains. What weighs more...

1. I would avoid a "jiffy bag" use - looks are important...if you scrimp on the packaging, you can get people thinking "Hmm maybe I can get more from this cheapo seller".

2. Take a picture of the 2 cables and include 1 in the bag, number stamped - and another with you, also stamped. Look professional

@ Rsot,

What packaging would you use - i was thinking of thick, bright coloured poly bags?

The question is how often does this happen.
Do you lose more money sending separate with 2 delivery confirmations for all your orders or send out the supposed missing one every once in a while?

got those, never combine orders , always send 2 delivery confirmations for order of 2.
Since then , never got this scam any more ....
I found out only those buying QTY = 2 would have this senario, QTY = 3 or above happen less, because when scammers try to cheat, they would also think about the cost too ... :heh:

Those are pretty good - any way of sealing them?

An Australian company I use makes a self-sealing bag. I ship train tracks, quite similar to cables. Bag is self sealed, then I fold it over about 2 inches. I apply 2 inch wide tape across the diameter of the bag. Secures everything very well.

That is pro GB :thumb: - get less problems when you do the small quality things.
