?Stalker or competitor

I'm selling an ebay item, common item that everyone else is selling on ebay. Mines exactly the same as theirs and those people have been selling for a good long time with no issues.

However anytime I list my item ( obviously my version, same item but my own pictures, writing etc etc ) I get a MC019 eBay Listing Removed: Copyright Breach.

Now the person reporting me is a type of media company with only an email address as

xxxxxxxx@yahoo.com

Ive spoke with them today, just a guy via email and he said he needs to send me the details via recorded delivery and the intended notice..

This just doesn't make sense to me, has anyone dealt with something like this?

Whats throwing me off is the yahoo email address for a business ?

GreenGhost 01-26-2013 11:52 AM

it's called vero also check out the Stealth Guide it's not expensive at all because the way your setting up accounts or your account activity may be causing this as well..

Bunneh 01-26-2013 11:55 AM

hmm... id love to see what he sends you via recorded delivery :pop2:

Thats assuming it ever arrives.

ipwn 01-26-2013 12:08 PM

It's a private firm thats reporting me listing and having it removed.

THis is what I got from ebay.

Thank you for your recent listing on eBay. The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, xxxx, notified eBay that this listing breaches intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of breach, we remove the listing to comply with the law.
Questions about the specific violation should be addressed to xxxx Limited
You can send an email to: xxxx@yahoo.co.uk

Unfortunately, the following item(s) breached one or more of our policies and had to be removed from the site.

Shouldn't a private firm still have a business email?
I would wait to receive this 'documents' and check this firm out properly.

I'd avoid giving out my address, especially to someone @yahoo which you have a strong suspicion is a stalker or competition...

oompaloompa 01-26-2013 12:26 PM

a yahoo email is almost certainly a competitor ...

if he had any power, your listing would be down and you would get an ebay email under the VERO program...

Was virtual box.

Exactly my thoughts to, competition.

If it is a competitor what are my options :/ ? Surely this is quite a flawed system!

mcmx 01-26-2013 12:47 PM

Wow. I don't know what some of you are selling but I don't think I'll ever have crazy competition going to lengths like this to throw me off.

How on Earth could someone f/ake as if they're a company and then get eBay to remove your listing? Or if you're getting this "MC019" notice when you try to list your item then I have no idea how a competitor could have the power to make eBay do that.

The only way I would see it as f/ake is if you received a regular eBay Message trying to tell you this.

I've had a competitor weasel his way into the VERO program and was having auctions taken down.

It was a little easier to narrow down since there was really only him, and I took all the facts and reported him to Ebay. No VERO take downs since.

The trick also is to get mad and make a big fuss about your security. "How in the world do you let someone enter your program like that and give him my personal information" etc... With VERO takedowns, they send all your information to the person who requested it.

ipwn 01-26-2013 12:59 PM

Fail been waiting for a reply from the yahoo guy.

Just emailed me.

So I quickly shot email to competition, got an immediate response in the same style

what a fail, its competition.

MM78 01-26-2013 01:01 PM

Everything is possible when you want it bad enough. If I knew any of you were selling the same thing as me Id punch ya in the guts! lol...but no really I would!

ipwn 01-26-2013 01:46 PM

testdog 01-26-2013 03:26 PM

The true way to approach TOERAG competiton.

Be most discreet with whatever you do or say

I highly doubt he's on here, I have some pretty good inside info on the guy.

Honestly though, I felt a little bit guilty for all this stealth stuff until that happened. He got all my stealth info from one of his ⊗⊗⊗⊗ VERO takedowns... what if that was my real info???

Stealth rocks.

I was referring to the OP's matter.

Yours has been handled correctly

css1 01-26-2013 07:17 PM

oh - right.

GhostWhoWalks 01-26-2013 07:24 PM

I don't get it. So when you tell on someone for VERO reasons they give you that persons info???

css1 01-26-2013 07:47 PM

No. VERO take downs are done by owners who have trademarks, or their lawyers. They can send in an auction and have it taken down under the terms of VERO. When this is down, the auction goes down, you get a warning AND your information is sent to the person who started the VERO take down.

They are letting competition squeeze into the program to have your auctions taken down. So, when and if this happens, your competition gets your info (name, address, phone, etc).

GhostWhoWalks 01-26-2013 08:29 PM

How does the competition get the info if they didn't do this? I am lost on that one still.

But it's very nice that they get this information and all. Not the competition but the trademarks, or their lawyers part.

"letting competition squeeze into the program to have your auctions taken down" do you mean like they tell on you for things? And then ebay closes it out and sends your info to the person who just told on you? But then again I am not understanding it. Sorry. :(

And if your competition had your name, address, phone what can they do with it? Scare you in the middle of the night with phone calls? I would just change the number.

css1 01-26-2013 10:34 PM

The competition can join the VERO program and pretend to represent trademarks, like in my case.

If your competition can join VERO, then they find some reason to shut down your auctions and put a black mark on your accounts.

If someone is sneaky enough to do that, I would not want them to have my info. When you join the VERO program, there's a few legally binding things you need to sign and agree to. They are basically breaking these. Not exactly the type of person I would like holding my information.

Remember, they want to mess with you in hopes you stop selling the same product as them, so there's really no telling what they can/will/might do.

GhostWhoWalks 01-27-2013 05:52 AM

Got it, I guess it's really if there are only 2 or 3 sellers on the site selling the same type of product then. I am in the market of at least 125 to 175 other sellers in the market. I don't think I would have to worry about that.

But you never know these days. And it's true they are always willing to screw someone over.

I would e-mail back eB with exactly this - a yahoo address is such a popular scam e-mail or competitor e-mail.

Trash - maybe eB will listen.
