I calculated in Nov last year my facebook and twitter accs generated 30% of that months turnover.
BUT they are directed to our website not ebay.
Was really hard going at first and i ended up buying an amount of followers and likes to start the ball rolling but it turned out to be well worth it.

Very nice I should kind of do the same! In the near future putting a note with all my sales for facebook page like or twitter and offer daily tips!

Have your friend do some for you! :)

There is more to just fast shipping, high quality and the amount of feedbacks you have. These top power sellers with 50,000 feedbacks are getting their traffic from somewhere else is what I am saying here. You can have the best looking listing and provide best service to your customers but if you cannot generate traffic you cannot sell as many products (not even close) as some of these sellers do.

Also stan from my understanding. Ebay gives you a discount if you bring traffic from outside to make a sale! You didn't know about this one did ya?

They pay less fees also! Plus ebay offers power sellers pension plan! So maybe it's why they are doing it like this.

You need to advertise your store outside of eBay to bring more traffic. This is what sets apart Top Rated Power Sellers who make millions of dollars every year versus another Top Rated seller who makes under 50 grand.

Well, I guess it depends on the product you're selling. For me, I'm doing almost more than I can handle without paying for any advertising to drive outside traffic to the listings. Keep in mind that advertisements don't mean that someone will end up buying it. On the contrary, they may go to your listing first and then end up buying someone else's, especially if they're shown "similar items from other sellers" by eBay.

Yes, it actually does. How many times have you gone onto Google's page 2 of search results? I can't remember the last time I have. The same goes with eBay. Most buyers will find what they're looking for on page 1. With my Top-Rated accounts, I get 160-200 page views in the last 24 hours. With my Above Standard account, I get 15-20 page views in the last 24 hours. The difference is HUGE. Now, it's up to you if you want to believe it or not.

Very interesting. Never seen anyone mention this before. :noidea:

If you're saving money from Ebay then those savings can be used to offset outside marketing cost and you have much more control of your destiny.

Can anyone verify this info???

90% of ALL the traffic goes to the Top 5 listings on Page One, period.

Less than 10% of all searches visit Page 2 of any search engine.

Page 3 gets less than 5%.

You can hide dead people on pages 4+, no one will ever find them.

I'll get you the final value fee discount link hold up let me find it!

http://reviews.ebay.com/Get-a-75-Sto...00000001589878
75% OFF ebay final value FEES! :)

What is a Store Referral Credit?

Store Referral Credit is a credit that Store sellers are eligible to receive when they successfully drive buyers to their eBay Store directly from a location outside of eBay. With Store Referral Credit, eBay will give you a 75% credit on your Final Value Fees when your marketing efforts generate sales of your Store Inventory format listings. Here's how it works:

You promote your eBay Store or your Store Inventory items from locations outside of eBay, such as other Web sites, emails to buyers, print advertisements, and so forth.
A buyer sees your promotion and goes directly to your eBay Store or one of your Store Inventory items.
The buyer purchases one of your Store Inventory items.
On your monthly invoice, you are charged the regular Final Value Fee, but you also receive a Store Referral Credit. Like the Final Value Fee, the Store Referral Credit is based on the final value of the item. The Store Referral Credit is roughly equal to 75% of the standard Final Value Fee.
