Do most of you specialize in 1 area on ebay?
 

Hello. I am trying to get bigger on ebay. I was curious if most here specialize in 1 area or category? Or do you just sell whatever you find, in whichever category that may be?

Here's my ideal Ebay store.

One unique product that only I have. :pound:

High Net Profits :pound:

Drop Shipping so I do no work :pound:

No customer complaints :pound:

Many Paypals to rotate because they are overflowing with Cash :pound:

Sorry, I'm new. Is this a question that isn't polite to ask? As in others would be sharing their secrets?

No such things as Secrets, just things we don't know yet.

No one is going to tell their category if it's super profitable.

Ideally, it would be nice to have one product. But in time you will have "planned Obsolescence" like the old Black & White TVs I used to watch.

We had 3 stations in the US and all programs were off by 10PM.

Then "Playboy After Dark" would come on. ;)

I do at the moment yes but looking at other options too, true words from Roscoe, its not good to have all your eggs in one basket.

Worthy of a separate thread but TV was much better back in the day. Just saw an Alfred Hitchcock marathon over at a friends house - great entertainment.

My expertise is in electronics. Right now I am starting to branch out into other areas. With more product lines the cashflow becomes a little more consistent.

Its always good to specialize. You usually make the most $ on what you know best. Only when you feel you have some extra capital do I branch out

Specialize in antiques and collectibles but sell just as much new or newer items in a variety of categories.

Its fine to ask but dont expect folx to say exactly what they sell - thats like asking for their bread and butter.

I dabble in all kinds of things when I am active - buy low, sell high, collect profits, done.

i specialized with sports memorabilia but since the usps drastically rose international shipping costs i'm really cutting back. I sell alot of hockey cards thats why it affects me

I used to specialize in Chinese iPhone copies (back before they were pretty much banned), I used to drop ship them from HK and keep a nice profit, since then I've started moving more and more towards my own websites.

Much better :)

If I can turn a buck on it I will.

I have sold everything from cars/vans/jeeps we bought on CL to flip, to electronics, sports hats and jerseys, real estate, furniture, antiques, collectibles, tools, door knobs, faucets, socks, signed artwork, autograph baseballs, rare glassware, hand made American baskets, video games, cds, art deco items, cast iron, old bottles, old games, vintage phones and the list goes on and on.
