How do you sell big $ items on ebay?
 

So there are tons of items that are $100,000+ on ebay, some being sold by sellers with thousands of feedback, others with only a couple hundred or even less.

I'm wondering, how long does it take to get your ebay limits up to these incredible amounts, and how safe is it when you sell the item on paypal?

Another question I have I suppose. Paypal has the ssn + documents limitation, then they also have the supplier information documents (for tax purposes), is there anything past this? Let's say I have a rare collectible I want to sell for 5-6 figures, how would I go about this? Thanks.

You cant take paypal for anything over $10,000. Thats the limit on their sale. If you break down into separate invoices you may be able to charge the buyer BUT paypal will INSTANTLY give you the hammer due to increased activity and ask for everything including your first born. Thats IF ebay doesnt pull the listing before it ends.

You can only accept other forms of payment..bank wire, etc. At that point you better be damn sure your item is a legit because if someone has the money to pay you 6 figures at the drop of a hat, they have the money to find you and ream you for everything youre worth.

Of course, so all the stuff on ebay aren't bought using ebay checkout? It's just like a craigslist type deal at that point lol.

I bought my old Audi on ebay about 8 years ago. I drove to the dealership and paid with a cashiers check.

No...no ebay checkout. Put in the listing paypal is not accepted and what you DO accept....like cash on local pickup, money order, cashiers check, bank wire etc. BUT make sure you specify the funds MUST CLEAR before shipping. I hate paper forms like checks money orders etc. because they can still put a stop payment on it or it might be ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Cleared funds then ship.
