Activity: 0% Longevity: 69% | | Left me Negative Feedback without even Paying
I sold an item, and some bidder with zero feedback won the auction.
I only ship within the United States. This bidder is from Russia.
Rather than having to relist it, or offering it to the next person, I decide to be nice and just let the winning bidder have it. I send him an invoice for the actual shipping charge, then he leaves me negative feedback. The only thing the feedback says is "???". I then sent a message to the buyer, and I haven't got a response.
Should I report the buyer? Or just open a non-payment case and then when he doesn't pay, the feedback should be removed. Right?
I've had some unfair feedback, but this is complete bull.

This is happening far too often. You are the 2nd user in the past days trapped by a buyer.
Confirm the facts:
an overseas buyer won the auction.
After he got your invoice he gave you a negative
Your listing stated only ship in USA

It's almost impossible to get feedback removed. I had a police report on a scammer and eBay refused to remove some BS feedback he left.

Your listing stated only ship in USA | That's all correct. I feel like ebay has to remove it. I did absolutely nothing wrong.

It's just not worth it. Most people overseas can't read English well enough to even understand the product description, so they're always hacked off after they get the item when it's not what they had in mind.

Yeah, this happens to me often. I have yet to get a negative feedback from it, but I know it's going to happen.
I try to be polite to the buyer to avoid any drama, but sometimes you just get an idiot... but I mean c'mon, I said I only ship to US/CA/UK and even if I ship to other places, you would need more than 1 feedback lol

First off when creating your listing, you need to mark the section in the drop down box where it says "No International Shipping". Then you need to create exception rules to exclude every single continent that you don't want to ship to...and if you don't want to ship to APO/FPO or PO BOX then you need to check that off. ALWAYS, do not skip this step.
I NEVER ship internationally, not even Canada. I specifically state it in my listing and I create the exception rules and go through the drop down menu and select NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. This has saved me many headaches.
International shipping is nothing but a disaster a majority of the time. As far as getting your feedback removed...good luck. Ebay won't do sh*t for you half the time...and if they do, the feedback still shows up and people can still read it. Your rating is still down, but it just will show "0" in the negative box at the top.

I've done the thing where you click the exceptions, but why do they make you do that EVERY TIME. How monotonous. I'm tired of getting treated like crap by ebay.

Isn't the feedback removed after you file an unpaid item case?

I have had people contact me asking why they can't bid...they are international.

I had one unfair negative feedback against me in 4 years with 100% positive (fraudulent, feedback extortion etc). I contacted all previous sellers about the buyer and they had similar experiences about the buyer. Reported it to ebay and they did nothing. I ACTUALLY GOT MY ACCOUNT SUSPENDED because of it!!!

Now that's what I'm talkin about. If you expect help from eb then you also prolly believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny. Lick your wounds and move on. Getting eb involved is at best a waste of time.

Open Unpaid auction - block bidder - report buyer - contact eB and have this removed.

Like said above - open unpaid item case and the feedback will be removed.
Just to be sure, when this happened to me once when I forgot to block buyers from countries I don't ship it I sent an invoice with a $60 shipping fee for express shipping to make sure the buyer doesn't pay.
And I think all of you are wrong about international shipping - done correctly it can only bring you prfoit, you need to ship only to countries where the shipment can be tracked (this surprisingly does not include the UK and France).
Make sure you have insurance in case the package gets lost and block certain countries with high loss rate.
You can be safe shipping to Canda, Israel, Australia, all big european countries and Brazil is even worth taking a risk.

Shipping to anywhere is a risk.
That's par for online selling.
It's being forced to take a complete lack of support from a company who keenly take our monies for fees. |

Was thinking about this thread and now remember I did have someone do this a couple of years ago.
If I remember correctly I reported it and the feedback got removed and the buyer was shown as no longer registered.
