Is the ebay affiliate program linked to ebay accounts?
 

My ebay account was recently banned for some sort of copyright or trademark violation which they refuse to explain. I was on ebay for 7 years and had 1300 feedbacks, 99.2% positive.

My paypal account was not banned, but I am going to open a new one.

I am an active member of the ebay affiliate program. Will they link the affiliate program to accounts?

I've also thought about this because ebay aff used to be on cj and now ebay controls the aff.
But to be honest and the way ebay links everything its safe to close that account and make a new account and etc.

I was pretty annoyed when they moved from CJ to their own platform, because of the linking issue. I've used all my banned ebay details on my EPN account and it's fine there, however I never login to it without changing IP/clearing cookies. Best to be on the safe side.

THe problem is that the affiliate account had my real name. If I use an alias, I won't be able to cash the checks.

I cash checks all the time in my business names. I think it shouldn't be an issue.

I also liked when eBay was with CJ... now we have to be even more careful using them.

The fact that your real has has been suspended with eBay isn't a problem - or at least it isn't with me. I have used all my real details with EPN, which have been suspended previously, with no problem.

That's good to know, so they aren't connected... yet.

Just a quick update. My account was recently banned even though I have become fairly inactive as an affiliate. I think they are now linking accounts.
