| | | Batman | 03-02-2013 05:14 PM | When new sellers jump on the bandwagon its annoying when certain sellers come along and start listing the item your selling at a lower price, after some time theres more sellers and lower profit because of their idiot behaviour, the value of the product decreases.
any advice on this?
it would be nice to list it in a way or something to keep average sales and decent profit. |
| boost | 03-02-2013 06:12 PM | I always check feedback of sellers when I buy...if I don't like what I see or they haven't been selling for long, I move to a different seller. If I saw a new seller that just started selling that item without a history of it, I wouldn't buy from them. Maybe other buyers think the same way.....wait, most are idiots so nvm. |
Re: When new sellers jump on the bandwagon Low sellers I find are often scammers and disappear after a while. |
It's a double edge sword, I have a specific item I sell for feedback and well I sell it cheaper than those who sell it for profit. I only make $1.00 total profit but I just care about the feedback to get the account(s) going.
I have although ran into these idiots with my regular items but they don't sell as we'll as I do. |
| Sandy D | 03-02-2013 08:21 PM | There is someone although not brand new who has similar items to what I sell in a category and recently came in an listed multiple listings starting everything at 0.99.
LOL
Last Sunday night they got their fair share as 90% went off for 0.99.
Looking now I see they no longer have any 0.99 sales going on.
They lost their butts real quick. |
Have you already relisted them yet, or have they not arrived?;) Quote:

You think like I do.
Why not grab them for cheap like this and help them lose their tails.
Heck I ran out of address to send the darn things to.

Best advice is to keep on top of your competition and act accordingly. Nothing set in stone for this - market always changes |
| Prophecy | 03-04-2013 01:33 PM | Well if your idea of business is to sell things that every tom dick and harry can source, then of course you will run into these problems. Everyone is out there to make money and some sellers will eventually sell the same thing as you at a bargain price.
That's why you have to think out of the box, look for a niche or go into Manufacturing. |

| SFBayer | 03-04-2013 01:52 PM | Hi, new poster, just wanted to add in my 2 cents to this thread--I don't worry about those sellers. Eventually their auctions go away, I let my items ride and I've had some that were double what other sellers were offering and I still sold them without any issue. It just takes patience and the right buyer who may not care about researching and/or just goes with the first item that matches what they're looking for at a price they're already willing to pay.
There will always be someone desperate to unload something at a lower price. Myself, there have been days when I really needed some money so I temporarily lower prices to generate some sales. It doesn't always work. Buyers are VERY unpredictable and you can't use logic trying to figure out their behavior! |

The same item I have sold these days about 15% over priced in these same times that someones trying to sell it for lower. So i think you should just keep going as you are and it could be fine. |
| yungsc1005 | 03-04-2013 04:17 PM | I would try out a few things:
1. Offer an "extra bonus material" or something your competitors can't or won't provide. Depends on what your selling though.
2. Make your listing MORE attractive and post better looking photos (watermark them). However I have sellers steal my description and ebay didnt do jack sh**t.
3. Move onto a different product under a different user name. Dont give these new sellers new work, selling all your items under the same account over and over. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:24 PM. | |
