Hard Work Pays Off...Don't Give Up!

I have been down in the dumps over the past week or so, seemed like a lot of things were going wrong in the ebay aspect. Had issues with a "professional buyer", ebay wasn't listening to me, my account limits weren't where I wanted them to be despite all of the work that I have been putting in. I was really about to call it quits with my current account due to the TRS status being in jeopardy thanks to the professional buyer.

I was rethinking everything that I have been through and sacrificed over the past 5 months with this account, what I achieved and wanted to achieve. The bs I had to deal with while just gritting and bearing it. I was on the verge of throwing it away, letting these issues get to me.

Until just a few minutes ago. I have been fighting with ebay on selling limits, trying to increase them month after month - hitting a plateau even though my sales far surpassed those limits. This morning my limits were maxed out for the month....but after logging in to my account a few minutes ago, my limits were increased....over 5 fold. I feel like all of my hard work has finally paid off in a way. I have a new found motivation to keep going - suck up the problems since they are bound to happen.

Just want to tell everyone - don't give up...your hard work will pay off. It takes everything you have to keep going, but if you play your cards right, your work won't go unnoticed. I have been through hell and back with ebay and paypal and I am sure there are tough roads ahead still, but keeping motivated and focused on the ultimate goal is now easier. Keep at it guys!

Too right Boost! We've all been there (and some of us will eventually!). There's always a way to work around things. Good on you!

When I went from 50/5000 to 75/40k, it was a 7x increase which sounds like a lot but really isn't much. Now going from 75/40k to 320/208k...5x increase which is very significant.

Thank you - it's easy to get stuck in a rut. Success is right around the corner.

It sure is. Hard work always pays off Boost.

Never giving up and hard work always pays off in the end.

Congratulations, i saw you posting about your limits couple days ago about how you had been maxing out for time but they were not increasing and im almost in the same situation.

I know things can be hard sometimes, right now im kind of going through a hard time where some of my goods recently are turning out to be faulty from my supplier and dealing with customers complaints, refunds, losing some money is very difficult but all i pray to God is to help me fight through this battle and this makes me a stronger person to go and achieve better and more.

ebay needs more fee money.... simple. It`s not because they are feeling generous believe me.

Very nice posted information.

Hard work is NO guarantee of success. I know of a lot of people who work hard and don't have a pot to **** in. <<< My family.

If all you had to do was work hard there would be a lot of rich people.

Never giving up and working smart
may get you on the road to success, but there is no guarantee.

I know the feeling now....going from little limits to semi-big limits is an awesome good feeling. My goal was at least 500/500k...whether I will actually use that limit up is another story. Wait wait, let me say....whether paypal will actually let me pull money out is another story :pound:

Maybe they're running behind or something. My last increase was the 10th of February, now they bumped me early - 4th of March.

I've worked hard my whole life and have never seen sh*t....until I made a few adjustments and rethought everything I had been doing. Book called "Think and Grow Rich" really opened my eyes...and believe it or not, that movie "The Secret" (even though she made it all for her own gain) and a few other books.

As Henry Ford once said:
"I don’t need to know everything, I just need to know people who do."

Many people work hard and don't have 2 cents when they retire. I forget the %, but a HUGE majority of people are dependent upon the Government for Pensions, Soc Sec, food stamps, etc... when they retire.

I don't use the govt and never want to be dependent upon them. That's what Communism is for :smash:

Good for you realizing that what you were doing wasn't working. If people would take time to learn, put together a plan, and work at it you can be successful in 12 months <<<< not 12 YEARS.

You need to think big, dream big, learn from successful people (you mirror their ACTIONS), and then YOU need to take ACTION.

Knowledge is useless if you don't take action. That's where most fail.

Ticks me off when I I hear people say, "go to school, get a college degree, work hard and you'll do fine."

Oh really? Then tell me why people retire with no money?

Why are more people working into their 70's and 80's?

The world has changed, we have a global economy.

Adapt or get slaughtered like the rest of the minions who believe that Politicians can change your destiny.

Let's not bring politics into this....while I agree with everything you said, it's best to let it be. I do not trust the government nor have I ever or will ever rely on them. I do my own thing, do not vote, blah blah. As I said - we can let it be.

As for going to college and such - I have never been and I don't plan to. I have seen far too many people fail even after attending 6+ years. A good friend of mine can't land a job in his field even after all of his schooling. He is stuck at a dead end job, despite all of my efforts to change his thought process. Some people can't be helped unless they want to do something about their situation.

Me - I am self taught in my trade, started as a hobby when I was young and grew into a profession. Didn't have to go to school to learn what needed to be learned...I have started a shop with a friend and then moved on to do my own thing - I know how to do things better than some of the "professionals" (meaning certified, blah blah). Now throw ebay into everything as supplemental income and the ball is starting to roll. Now if I can only get it over the hill to REALLY start going

Lol i was down in the dumps last two weeks. had 5 accounts with 100/10000 and got some virus where on all my windows users account merged files and all account linked. a year of work gone in secs. But gave myself a week to be mad got a bluebird account and now right back on horse. Hard work is what the diff in this line of work. Most people want it right away and want to invest 100 and make 1000. More than hard work is needed but thats most important part.

yukinara 03-05-2013 04:33 PM

I agree that hard work does pay off, but only with a fair amount of brain, and a little luck. For example, on an eBay account I only have like 30 feedback (all positive), the limit is like 50 something, then in one month it jumps to 100, then 350. I was like "WTH, ebay?"
On the other hand, another account with 90 feedback still have 100 items limit.

So yeah, hard work + brain + luck. Luck won't come all the time, but lightning wont strike if you don't walk out in a thunder storm wearing tinfoil.
