Ghost Listings on eBay
 

Seriously, I'm not crazy, but there are "ghost listings" on eBay. Popping up every now and then. They are dead auctions (no pun intended) that ended for a long time.

I opened my auctions of one account in Firefox (and the browser is set to clear the cache and everything when I close it) and my account usually has 30 listings. But now it had 31. It turns out an item is listed that I sold about 8 days ago and it's saying as ending in "34 minutes" from now, in red, like the usual ending auctions. When I click it, the auction says it has ended. Then I go back to my listings and there are 30 listings again, the ghost listing gone.

I then decided to check on my wife's computer which is on its own separate internet connection and has never accessed my auctions for at least 6 months. I refreshed the window about 50 times and suddenly the ghost auction pops up, at the next refresh it's gone again.

This happened not only on this one account, but also on another account about a week ago. Back then I thought maybe Firefox displayed me a cached page, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm starting to think eBay is haunted by ghost listings...

Not scared, I'd sleep a night in a haunted house without worries. But it's weird. Why would closed eBay auctions suddenly pop up? I know it's likely an eBay server glitch, but still has that "ghost haunting" feeling to it :D

I'm trying to think of how to write the sound a ghost makes on cartoons lol but cant think of it.

Imjustme, how can you not be scared of ghosts in general?
I would never sleep in a haunted house. I'm completely freaked out by ghosts. You know my last house was haunted.

Ghosts fascinate me. Why should anyone be scared of ghosts? You weren't afraid of the people when they were living, so why be afraid when they're dead?

eBay ghost listings freak me out, though.

Ghosts are one thing I'm scared of. Please don't laugh but I don't even like watching scary movies. There I said it.

There is a ghost in my house. Not a mean one, he is playful. Hides things all the time but if you say out loud to put it back ... he will! Sometimes I get annoyed when he jiggles the doors at night because it wakes me up and then all the door handles will eventually start breaking (again). What is fun is telling stories about him to guests and when they say something like "I don't believe in ghosts" the lights dim or go out for a few seconds or they lose their car keys! Really weird things happen here.

My mom used to work at a nursing home and she says when ever a patient is about to die, the dead relatives of that person come back to try and persuade that person to go with them. They stand by a window or near their bed trying to make them come. She doesn't see this of course, but the dying patient says their husband is sitting right there, or their sister wants them to go with her. This happens a lot. One time there was this one guy who had evil men trying to get him, he freaked out and was caught several times running around the place. The next morning he died.

Very off topic, but I believe ghost are real. And I know my mom knows they're real. They're not bad though, so nothing to be afraid of.

Happened to me too, I ended an auction early, and a few days later it was in my selling items list.

There was a documentary on 60 mins last year of where members of the 'Rat Pack" are still coming to a Resort- to hang out and play the piano, etc..
It is very fascinating.
I would love for a long lost Relative to come back and whisper to me--the next Winning Lottery Numbers, though :)
