New Store Subscription Benefits

I've never had a store before, but I'm thinking about getting a basic store.
Unfortunately, I pretty much only sell video games and the difference in final value fees is only 1%.

Based on how much I've been selling lately, it would save me a little money, but hardly anything. Is there really any other benefits to note other than a decrease in final value fee? I don't sell enough items to where insertion fees matter.

If you sign up for a year at a time, do you have to pay for the whole year upfront? Or do they just bill you monthly?

it's not worth doing then. A store is good for high volume sellers

Yes, it's monthly. And pro-rated if you close the store after 30 days.

Requires a debit/credit card on file to subscribe to a Store, fyi.

I personally like the automated feedback & free scheduled listings.

The store price is added to your eBay invoice along with all your other fees.

Scheduled listings would be really convenient. I think that's actually going to be available though to non store subscribers for free...i think i read that in the seller newsletter. Automated feedback would be nice perk though.

Since when? Because I have an account with an eBay store and I do not have a debit/card on file with eBay. I think you might have to sign up for the automatic payment from your PayPal account which I think you have to do anyways if you don't have DC/CC on file.

I checked you are right. I have older accounts. One from 2008 that has an expired card still on file I can open a store with that. I have one from 2009 where there is no card on file. The prepaid cards I used then stopped working for eBay. That one I can not open even with well over a thousand feedback.

But then I also do have any account with a store that does not have a card on file I opened that mid 2010. So this must have changed in recently.

Because I do remember in the past not being able to open a store if you didn't have a certain amount of feedback or length of time on eBay. But this having a card on file is new to me. WOW. Sorry for doubting you.

Vague memories of this starting later 2010 or early 2011 ( USA accounts).

Store does have advantages though.

Over 500, over 1 year.

If you sell items you have quantity on, then YES it is worth it. No doubt about it. YES.

I checked I have account 4+ years old with thousands of feedback. It says I need to have a card on file to open a store. Does anyone know any gift cards that you can register and have them work on eBay? I used Simon Mall cards for years about 3 years I couldn't register them on eBay anymore but they still work fine for PayPal.

Vanilla Visa would likely still be effective
