Does a copyright violation affect search rankings?
 

Hi,

I had a listing up for a while and it was getting tons of traffic and I was making a bunch of sales; however, I soon ran out of stock and the listing was automatically taken down.

Shortly after, I got a copyright violation on an unrelated item. I re-stock on my product, put the listing back up and now I get maybe 10% of the traffic and sales I did before.

Any reasons why this could be happening? The listing is the exact same as before.

Would be careful if you get more than like 1 or two policy violations in like a 90 day period you account can be restricted/limited. Yes, it does affect your policy compliance which is somehow calculated into their method of madness for who comes up first in the search engine.

Could be your competition has upped its game to compete and beat you out too?

Ya, running out of stock is a bad thing

I was selling an item that costed me $1 10x a day for $8
Took it down someone that I compete with other items on decided to start selling the same item as I.
Now, were in direct competition - I lost my Top Rated Seller last month but I qualify for it this coming month (Thank God)
So, until the 20th next month I don't expect to make much money.

Though, come March I'm gonna start selling 1 listing super cheap as the cost of the product has cut in half.

I'm not sure if policy compliance affects your search ranking. There are a load of factors that do but not sure if this is one of them.

Could it not just be you are experiencing a downturn in trade? A lot of folk have found the last few weeks post-Xmas fairly lean.
