eBay Case Help

I've traveled from UK to Asia and checked my email and noticed that one of the item I sold, the buyer opened a dispute, if I access my eBay account in Asia, will eBay suspend my account?

Also he opened a case basically saying that the graphics card is hardware damaged and getting corrupt signal, I've only taken a software screenshot of the graphics card, how will I win the case as the graphics card is working as I've tested it before dispatching and it may be the buyer who damaged the card,

Thanks

Sounds like your customer has burned the card , get a UK vpn fast if your going to access your ebay/paypal and good luck

So if I access my eBay account in Asia, my eBay account will be suspended?

Ebay doesnt like VPN, better to get a friend/ family member to log in for you from a mobile dongle/ new user account and stay on the phone with them talking them through what to do.
Or perhaps a logmein / remote viewer programme to your home pc (probably too late for this)

Univerzal 04-04-2013 05:22 AM

Actually "remote desktop" is a good solution but a VPN for a one time use can indicate that he just sitting at a library or something and no "flag" will rise. How long will you stay out of the country

If I connect via Teamviewer to my UK computer, can I do it that way to avoid eBay suspension on my account?

Yes, it will work fine, are you login into 1 account only?

Even using TEAMVIEWER is not a given your account will not have issues.

Will depend on how ebay 'like' your side of the story.

I live in Asia and travel to the UK every year and have never been questioned when I have logged in in the UK and at times my partner has logged in to my account from Asia at the same time I am logged in from the UK...still never questioned.

Yes, the IP address in UK I use only has one eBay and Paypal registered

So can't guarantee it? Because the case is open and I'm back in the UK in a months time and the buyer has definitely damaged it and his fault but he requested a refund so I wanted to reply back as soon as possible as I don't want eBay to think I'm not replying and just take his money

I just want to make sure as this is the only eBay and Paypal account which uses my real address and name so I don't want to loose it

Not 100% true. VPN can work fine. It is more about having a Windows user account with a flash and cookie history of logging onto that account. If you normally log into that account with a laptop you have. eBay/PayPal recognizes the because of the cookies and it does not raise as big a risk. If you try to log onto from an internet cafe or something. You will be screwed. But yes if you try to get a VPN and you don't have the PC you normally log onto the account from you will still have trouble because eBay/PayPal does not recognize it. Same deal with phone calls before logging in etc.

If you are worried phone them, its your real account. Don't use a vpn, I dont think you'd have a problem just logging in.

I have worked accounts whilst i have been all over SE Asia on holiday.

I normally login using my computer at home in the UK, if I use Teamviewer in Asia using my laptop and connect to my computer at home in the UK, will that do as I don't want to buy a VPN only using it once

GreenBean 04-06-2013 04:21 AM

You can safely phone them and say you are overseas.

ebay can not stop sellers from taking vacations. Or email them ....

Casterina 04-08-2013 12:53 AM

I've received a email from eBay today,

Quote:

We're writing to let you know that we've reviewed the details of this case and reached a final decision. We've asked the buyer to return the item to you for a full refund.
The item is definitely working fine, the buyer has damaged the item

Can I appeal against this?

Sausage 04-08-2013 01:07 AM

I don't think you can appeal that decision, wait and see if they upload the tracking number to return it.

If the do return it then appeal but not sure where you will stand.

But I'm sure the buyer has damaged the item, as I tested the item before dispatching and when the buyer received it, the next day he opened a case about the item and I'm out from the UK so I can't reply to eBay but now I've access to my UK computer, I want to appeal against the decision

If the buyer has returned the item, I don't think there's any way I can appeal against it, will probably send it back to manufacture and get it fixed as it still under warranty

Also I have put a positive comment on the buyer profile, should I change it? If so how?

Sausage 04-08-2013 01:44 AM

I am sure you can not appeal a decision to return an item.

You can appeal once the item has been returned and you have received it.

I would wait an see what you get returned first, he may not bother to return anything or you could get sent a different card - his broken one that needed replacing in the first place.

Then you can appeal that he sent a different item back.

If you get your item back and it is broken then, as you say, you still have the warranty to get it repaired.

You just have to wait and see.

As far as changing feedback, you can only leave positive as a seller so I wouldn't be bothered about that.

Thanks for the advice, never thought of that, hopefully I've taken the picture of the serial barcode sticker, will check when I access the computer in the UK, also I've provided two games which only came in card paper, how do I check if the codes is used or not?

eB and PP dont really like it when IP`s dont match the address registration - can be flagged as account hijacking.

That being said, for TEAMVIEWER, you need to have it installed on your main pc then you can log in remotely and use your computer with your correct IP. Do you have someone there to install it?

Ah, just to clarify, you used TEAMVIEWER in the end?

Someone did manage to help install it for you?

What if anything have you done with EBAY?

It's a bit unclear
