do you report them as not paying or just cancel
I have about 7 buyer for about a week going 2 that have not pay I send about 2 invoice no reply I don't want the to give me a negative feedback for harassment but would like to get pay or relist

for me, depends on the cost of the item.

Something small, I just relist and block that person. Not worth the hassle.
Something large with high FVF and I open a case.

In all my listings I let them know payment is required within 48 hours.

Make it clear and not a fine print.

If you open a case, and they never paid. The buyer can not leave deedback.
And if they did, it gets removed.

This usually applies to people who habe low feedback, people with more purchases
I gice them the benefit of the doubt and send them message.

If they dont want it after a message then I just relist and move on.
Dont have time to mess with them.

Higher price items I usually file NPB and if they have a decent account it scares them into paying.

I would tell them you have more than patient and accommodating. Give them a hard deadline. Then relist and open an unpaid item case.

I open cases on ALL NPB's and I add them to my master block list.

Always open an unpaid item case. If buyers get annoyed at you tell them the system did it automatically.

One of the downsides to auction style listings.

I enable the unpaid assistant on all my accounts. It automatically opens a case after 4 days. I don't have the time or the patience to mess with deadbeat buyers.

i always open cases.

i can't take the risk of relisting them some person paying while my freshly relisted auction has a bid on it... that would be my luck every time.

i've put buyer requirements on all my auctions about unpaid cases........ doesn't really help.

what is it with ebay and people that don't pay?? do they just hang out and get their shopping fix and run away??

So if someone buys and item and says sorry I can't pay until x date like 7 days later. Do you tell them to F off? Just curious. I normally try to be accommodating. This question isn't about people who just purchase or win and don't pay. It is the a-hole who keeps saying they are going to pay. I agree I would love to file the NPB but with eBay they buyer can report you and hurt you for anything. That is why I try to be accommodating but say I have a hard deadline of this!


I apologize, my update I read it wrong. No contact for sure NPB as soon as possible. But if you have any insights on the person that claims they will pay later on but doesn't please share.

Once I bought something on EB, I was gonna pay with some expected money, money that I couldn't take on time, so I had to tell the seller the truth, that I just couldn't afford it for these reasons, I was scared to tell the truth, but the seller just relisted the item and tell me "No Prob".

Sometimes it works, depending on the seller, feedback, etc. Just don't make it an habit.

I use to pay right away after I click the BIN button.

THere is no reason to give buyers anymore leeway than they already have the overwhelming advantage over you.

They don't pay within the amount of minimum days you can open a non payment case, I open right away to cover myself.

Unless they contact me first and I think they are not giving me excuses.

if you are worried about buyers not paying, use buy it now and check the box to require immediate payment. now when you get a sale, you know nothing has to be done but ship it, no worries about waiting for payment and having your item unlisted for a week or so

NPB fixes it for the majority of buyers who care.

If they dont care then you cannot pry money out of them.

Re list and move on.

Depending on the time of year, I get 5-10% unpaid items on auctons. A lot of times I can tell by the winning bidder's feedback and if the item sold over-value. If that's the case I will immediately send second chance offers and message the buyer indicating that his lack of feedback has me nervous and until I get payment I am offering the product for sale to the other bidders. It's rare instances, but if the buyer has zero feedback and item sold high, then I absolutely will do that.

Doesn't make much sense, Sellers would be getting screwed more than usual if that happened, I only sell BIN + Immediate Payment Required.
