buyer from singapore won my item

i have a new account that i started selling personal items on. i dont have international shipping, but somehow a buyer from singapore won my auction..how is this possible? what do i do?

MM78 04-04-2013 10:09 PM

Did you setup shipping exclusions?

ateep22 04-04-2013 10:15 PM

no..if i go under shipping tab when listing an item i have my u.s. shipping stuff, right below that it says international shipping and theres a checkmark saying Yes, I’d like to offer international shipping to attract more buyers....obivously this is unchecked, and finally the exclude shipping locations says no locations are excluded..is this where i f'ed up?

MM78 04-04-2013 10:31 PM

Yeah, that's where you messed up. When you made your listing you needed to check off the Countries you don't ship too.

ateep22 04-04-2013 10:44 PM

wow this is the worst thing ever

GreenBean 04-04-2013 10:48 PM

When you list, you have to set up as many barriers as you can to prevent troubles.

Like MM78 suggested, checking off countries not on your ship list is one.

Immediate payment with paypal is another.

YOU have to state in a listing what you want. You do not want some buyer controlling you.

To give you an example, a buyer tried on this forum to find out how to deal with a seller who refused to ship to his country. (Item was a TV:eek;)

If the buyer had read the listing correctly, this was CLEARLY stated. took a bit of persuasion to get the buyer to understand.

Learn the methods now. Don't be a victim

ya, i just went into my account preferences and checked off the countries i dont want to deal with...thanks..now i have to ship this thing to singapore.

GreenBean 04-04-2013 11:18 PM

Why? You might want to cancel the sale.

If the cost of the item is over say $55, consider cancelling the deal.

Has the buyer any idea of the GREAT cost of sening the item fully insred, signed for etc etc.

Look at all that. How old is the buyer's account? Paypal verified & confirmed?

In other words how SAFE will you be?

Any doubts in your own mind, do not make the sale.

well he already left negative feedback bc i thought i was right and told him i dont ship international, but once i found out it was my fault i told him remove the negative ill ship it to you. but another thing..on the status tabs under sold here is the situation..

-under the calculator logo (complete checkout or not): its a pie chart/clock (buyer requested total)
-under $ logo (paid or not): hourglass (buyer marked this as payment sent)

no payment in my paypal..do i have to wait for it to clear? im so lost

MM78 04-05-2013 03:22 PM

Check your Paypal Account to see if the buyer paid or not.

You know. . .I've sold hundreds of items internationally, and as long as the buyer has some proper feedback, you should fulfill the order. I honestly have more problems with domestic buys then I do with international.
