Bought an item on ebay and did not pay right away.
so the next day I paid and when I paid added an address for shipping .well during the time seller was waiting for me to pay he wrote down the stealth address from my ebay which is of course different than the address i put in when i made payment.

So he shipped to the stealth address and sent me tracking i told him that was not the correct address and he flipped out called ebay blah blah, i filed dispute item not received he popped in tracking number pp seen it went somewhere other than the address on the payment.

he lost the case and i got a refund and his package is in lala land but i told the guy hey please just go to po and change the address and he refused.

Anyway this is the result now i might lose the account because of multi addresses and my primary obviously not being good but whatever i did not know what else to do

The advice here is even when you send an invoice to a buyer dont use that address wait for the pp email telling you to ship or get the address form the ebay order details page AFTER they pay

Next time just use a purely buyers accounts for such things.

Agree with yotano211, I have a buying account to an address I actually have access too, P.O. Box address in my case.

The correct method is to have an accessible address.

Did you think to ask on the forum as well?

My buyers account is directly attached to my house.

I would say that youre probably not "burned by ebay" yet, but however they can keep an extra eye on that particular account for a while.


To be honest, i just cant see why there is so many people around the world/forum that dont use mail forwarders (there are plenty of safe ones) especially in U.S

Explain what you mean by mail forwarders..is that like a virtual address that forwards the mail to any other address? Such as real address.

I understand what you mean by having a buyers account only.luckily i have my original eb account that is seller restricted, but i can buy..however some people dont. Also i live in a very, very rural area. No ups stores within an hour. Only po. So it is a bit tough to get an accessible address, and im sure some folks are in same boat. Luckliy i dont need that yet.

Yes, that's exactly what they are. Mail goes to the forwarding address. This has the name, street address, zip code or whatever. (Like a depot). That then is forwarded to its final destination without that actually ever being known.
Point is that majority of these may be known to ebay/paypal

You shoud ALWAYS strive to set up all of your Accounts to real addresses that you have access to, for a few bucks a month the UPS Store will give you an address and sign for your mail/packages if need be, it is just part of doing business

I dont care about the item i am more concerned with losing the account

How does this matter? Lets say i live in a building with 2-300residents , 80 people in My house sells on Ebay on a regular basis, they cant Link you down for being a neighbor? I have only positive experiance with mail forwarders but i only use thoose who provide your own "apartment" (box) number.
I have setup up bank,phone everything with these addresses and it works good

For me. I am a very casual seller, a few items a month for extra cash. I dont rely on eb for a living luckily..i would pull my hair out ( whats left of it). I dont need a ups box or siilar yet..its not worth the price, but if i were running a business, it would be a must.


On my legit pp i have my own real addy. I used tohave a secondary address but deleted it almost 2 years ago. Any chance i coulduse that addy again? It was never listed on eb, just pp and i only ever received 1or 2 packages to it..none for past 3 years. I know its bad to recycle addresses, but its one i have easy access to for stealth..

I have multiple buyer accounts so I can purchase many things to re sell on ebay, amazon, etsy etc and all have an their own shipping address.

Changing the address or relying on the seller to do it right is risky itself.

Plus if you buy from ebay to resell on ebay due to your extra knowledge or wrong category listings etc, you dont want to resell them from the same ebay account for 8-10 times your buy price, it upsets people

Let me assure you that there are some mail forwarders in the USA on the black list.

Just because you have had success, try to understand there may be a risk.

Yes, ebay/paypal have closed accounts of neighbors. They close accounts of family members too. Avoid the assumptions.
It's great your own accounts are going well. Bear in mind there is always the chance of pitfalls.

Actually, i put the square peg in the round hole, easier to squeeze in.

Oh, i didnt know about this, people getting shut down just for having the wrong address sounds crazy, i have only read a few horrorstories but i guess you live n you learn about Ebay/paypals paranoia.

I have reused some addresses with good variation. It can be done
