Dropshipping - item location issue

Dear Members

I know that many people don't like dropshipping idea at all, but when you are outside of USA, working with stealth accounts and your country isn't really able to compete with others, you have nothing to do, than dropshipping business...

So here is an interesting question.

When your account is registered lets say in US and item location in other country - europe, china etc how should you do so not have problems with EBAY?

- Putting item real location?
- Write in description where item is located?
- Do not write anything (inform buyer only after buying item)?

I have experience putting real item location, but many experienced sellers say that it's not really reccomended, cause you can be linked and required documents etc, but I have nevered been linked with this issue

HOW WOULD YOU DO THIS???

GreenBean 04-15-2013 07:13 AM

I would never drop-ship unless I stated item location.

Let me just say buyers will be annoyed if they get told AFTER purchase info that might have otherwise stopped them buying.

That is dishonest.

Thank you for kind opiniion

BUT, as I stated above due circumstances many people have no other way doing this business, that's why they choose dropship (many of them very successfully).
THE QUESTION IS - regardless that it's not reccomended, how is the best way to indicate item location.

It does not matter if you lived on the moon.

You have to make sure with your listing that everything is stated CLEARLY, and therefore honestly.

Change your "Item location" MANUALLY on your auction listing - be clear about it - it can be done to show where it ships from.

If you do not put item location and say you are in NYC and the item ships from LA not only are you messing up the shipping cost but the customer who might be very picky will pick up on it and may report it.

Then you have ebay manually looking at your accounts.

Avoid any headaches if you can.

So I do this way, (have never had problems because of that). The matter is if I do it always (selling more), what may I expect?

If anyone has expereince with that, it would be nice if he can share with

rsot 04-16-2013 12:36 PM

If you do it always, buyers will understand where it is shipping from - this is a GOOD thing. You are unlikely to be penalized by eB unless you get reported...no reason why though

Proof

Thank you rsot and GreenBean

As a proof of my theory please search this seller - poweronlinesale2008

He is registered in Taiwan and his item locations - China, Germany, USA

What do you think now? POWER seller is making a dropship :)

rsot 04-17-2013 02:11 PM

Careful on dropping names that aren't yours :)

armanmal 04-18-2013 01:43 AM

Sorry... As far as this seller is making sales I guess he wouldn't be mind his named be shared.... But I will note that, to be careful!

You saw that dropship is possible even among power sellers!!!!

Everything is possible in this world, that doesn't mean that it always makes sense to try and make it work

armanmal 04-19-2013 03:36 AM

Well I am not talking that it's possible or not... I just want to get ebay atitude. Listings as a rull are checked by automatic bots and if there is something wrong it will be removed. If you make wrong listing again they will block you or suspend.

So how do their system treat if you always make a listing and note item location other than your country. My experience shows that they still do not pay attention to this. HOW ABOUT STEALTH ACCOUNTS???

GreenBean 04-19-2013 05:17 AM

If you want ebay attitude, go ask ebay.

You got advised by us about the better or sensible way to make your listing.

You want to do things differently, then to quote rsot.... go experiment.

Before you go, I do know of sellers whose accounts were suspended by ebay because their listings were inaccurate. their buyers reported them to ebay for FALSE ADVERTISING

You choose
