Unpaid Items Dispute Nightmare - What Would YOU Do?
 

Hi,

A buyer offers to pay the relisting fee, so they would not get strike.

Can I accept the offer and use transaction mutually withdrawn to cancel the it?

is it against ebay policy to do that?

Rule 1 right now on EBAY is don't agitate a buyer.

If theyre concerned Re: getting a strike, sounds like this is not the first time they have come across this situation.. File a Non Paid...

Make them pay the relisting and final value fee, directly to you outside of EBAY.

Yep. I would not be inclined to trust them.

Do a mutual cancellation of the auction, via friendly unpaid item reminder. Big deal. Else let it go completely.


Basically decide for yourself what is important for you, your ego or being able to sell on eBay.


I'd visit www.howtopickmybattles.com and study it thoroughly.

If you do a mutual withdraw sometimes the buyer will select no so you get stuck with the fees.

If they try to pay your ebay fees, then you get charged $1 or so for merchant transactions, too, which the buyer may be unwilling to pay and even if they pay it you are then at risk for a chargeback because you never delivered the goods so you'd have to demand them send a money order.

Any way to block bidders from a certain country?
 

I'd like to prevent any bidders from France to bid on my listings. The reason is because 9 out of 10 of them don't read that I don't ship to France, then I need to give them a refund, they 2 out of 10 leave me a neutral or negative saying "he doesn't ship to France, not good" and then when I open a mutual agreement to get my fees back, they close it saying they still want to complete the transaction.

I only see a way to block bidders from countries I don't ship to, but eBay only gives me an option to select or unselect entire 'Europe' which I can't really do either.

just say it in french in big capital bold letters "WE DO NOT SHIP TO FRANCE"/"Nous ne livrons pas à la France", the french are very patriotic people and they will appreciate you more if you say it in there own language.

I actually do it, in font size 4 letters, in bold red and both on top of the listing and the bottom. Still 4 bidders in 1 hour bid on it from France.

Unfortunately, even though the above paragraph says otherwise, Ebay only has that select/deselect europe/UK/Germany. It would be great if they had a country exclusion list the same way they have the bidder exclusion list.

well you could probably make a custom script to remove buyers that are from france, if any buyers are from there it would remove them and put them in the block folder. To do such a task it would probably be advisable to do a php script, so its working when your sleeping and you dont even need your computer on :)
That probably would remove 95% of french buyers because if the buyer uses bidsnipper maybe the script wont be able to remove them in time.

The problem is, my listings are almost all BIN.

this may be against ebay rules, however maybe put a script on the auction page to block all the ip ranges from france by going here http:**www*blockacountry * com otherwise..... im outta idea :D

I wish there was an option to block certain countries.

Right now what happens is:

1. Buyer from France buys the item.
2. I send her/him a refund saying I don't ship to France.
3. I have to wait 7 days to open a dispute to get my fees back.
4. 60% of the buyers close the dispute saying they stil want to complete the transaction.

And that leaves me with having to pay the final value fees for a $80 item for every buyer from France that can't read. And this is happening with 2-3 buyers right now every day, so its losing me a lot of money.

before i got suspended I had a buyer requ list...and in everything I listed under shipping I would put usa only...

some people are just blind, i dont ship internationally on a majority of my products, i still get idiots bidding from the USA or wherever.

Are all your products been shipped from Japan? Because I think there is a way around this where you can send to France people with no problem.

When you create an auction and you list out your shipping you should be able to designate the countries. I always kill France and several other countries that would not really buy products I sell. It keeps them from negging my auctions because it is not in French. Under the shipping section. Take a good look for it.

Buyers who are not allowed to buy and buy anyways - how do you deal with them?
 

After my last fiasco with France, I don't ship to France anymore. So I wrote that in a listing of an item I listed with B.I.N. and a few hours later I had a buyer. Of course, he's from France. Even though I wrote in English AND in French that I don't ship there. I refunded his payment and 7 days later opened a mutual agreement not to complete the transaction. He answered that he still wants to complete it ...great. Now because of that, I don't get my final value fees of about $30 back. On top of that, I also lose the insertion fees and gallery and all the neat addon fees (it was a valuable Antique item) a total of about $65. Who's going to reimburse me for that? Nobody, of course.

Makes me wonder where the eBay seller protection is :(

I thought there was a way to block buyers in certain countries. I would email eBay and ask them.
