eBay Market Research

I am a seller on Amazon and it is easy to pull up the top selling items and also to track how many items people sell.

I have googled for some Ebay research tools and read the forum here and getting mixed results. Can someone please recommend one that you have actually used that is good for finding what the most popular products are.

Thanks

Which tools have you found?

Tell us those first.

I have heard of terapeak for ebay, but have not used it myself so cannot pass judgement.

I have only sold about $75 and they are already saying that I am getting close to my limits and I should call them to talk about getting them increased.

Should I call them or is it like Amazon where I just let it go into review?

Don't call. Sell to your limit and then sell nothing (you wont be able to anyway) until your limit resets at the start of the month. Rinse and repeat. Maintain good DSRs and feedback and you'll see your limits quickly rise.

Agree with not calling in - just let your account grow - make more stealth accounts and spread sales

Try:

http://product-index.ebay.co.uk/best_selling_X.html

Where X is a number between 1 and 10 for different categories.

terapeak is good i've used it many times.

all these tools should be used as ballpark, you can do better... you can do worse. Spend a few hours get what info you need and get off.. you can get lost in the numbers.

lol @ people who are saying not to call :)

Hilarious isn't it.

I've never phoned ebay once in 4 years of doing stealth. I've never lost an account & selling limits do not restrict my business.

There are loads of posts on this forum where people have called ebay to try and raise limits to end up permanently suspended. I'm not saying it happens in all cases but it does happen.

If people need more selling allowances, then the better option is to open more accounts.

Right now you are at that 'icky' stage of the account's potential for a longer selling history.

Even though the account is 'aged', it lacks selling maturity.

This must be earned. You should carefully consider the options.

Some say call. A vast majority advise against calling.

I would not call. But I would sell to my limits for at least another 90 days.

This will allow you, as a newish seller on ebay, to become familiar with issues.

Selling to your limits, offering great customer service & earning high DSRs could well see the limits increased naturally.

After 90 days, I would reappraise the situation.

Consider making more stealth accounts as well.

good Luck, my friend.

Depends on the country you are from and WHAT YOU SELL. I am confident that people who got restricted sold ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or VERO items or got the questions wrong. There is no good reason for eBay to restrict you for selling non branded items if you have a clean record. In fact they want you to sell.

I have called numerous times before and already know kind of limit they can allow me to have or how they have different departments for each limit increase or what kind of questions one can expect them to ask you. So it's not always the same for everyone else. Sure, it is risky but if you are knowledgeable enough there is no reason to worry.

Thanks Green Bean. By the way my deposit went through and is n my account! :amen:

OK, so I want to create Ebay stealth accounts to sell the same items and spread them out. Is there going to be the same issues like Amazon with selling same item in same city?

So I want to buy the Ebay Ghost and of course read the forum here to setup Ebay stealth accounts. How accurate is the Ebay Ghost? The reason I ask is because Amazon ghost is showing it's age has there are many things in it that just don't apply now.
