Never ship an item without sig required every time it is over 250 period! You will lose every single dispute if it is over 250 and do not have signature. Buyer can pick up at po or you can have the package sent back to you. ONLY way to forward it or ship it somewhere else is to have buyer write an ebay message via ebay messages stating where they want it forwarded too. I would verify what I am saying with ebay and pp before I did anything. People on here are nice and give lots of good advice and unfortunately personal opinions that sometimes are not 100% accurate. Over 250 any and all sales sig required period and as for insurance 80 percent of the time people get insurance and pay for it and the type of item is not even covered by the insurance READ THE Fine print. Your buyer sounds shady be careful 500 bucks is not the end of the world but it is not chump change either.

Just my luck. I got this email from the buyer this morning.

Is there anyway you can change the delivery so it does not require signature confirmation? I work during the day and my gf is never at home. I'm having problems to get the XXX on my hands. If you are going to ask for a signature confirmation, it should be explicit on the add. Thanks

Now what do I do? When I track it, it says a notice was left on 5/11, and on 5/14.

And btw I have known my work schedule for a long time. I am a complete deyfus to think you would send me such an expensive item without covering both of us What the buyer should have said ;)

I think I will reply with something like this:

Hello. I'm very sorry that you are having difficulty getting the item. However Paypal requires me to use "signature required" for any item over $250. This is the only way both of us are covered if anything were to happen.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I just got a message from this buyer (now 3 months later). This is what he messaged me:

Hi there. I bought a tablet dell xps 10 from you in the past. Now for warranty purposes Im being asked about the original owner. Can you provide me some information so I can have my tablet serviced. Thanks

How should i proceed with this?

Personally, I would block them and not respond. After 3 months that it there deal.

Was the warranty transferable to begin with?

If so then I do not see any harm in giving information as long as it does not have to do with financial info or SS#.

Send an email saying to quote the listing number of the completed sale on ebay.

Not sure he needs go to that length.

He made a valid transaction of ebay.

Proof of purchase is there for the buyer....

Depends on how much energy the OP wants to give to this, imo.

Right but the receipt is still a good backup to have for documentation - uber safe

I do it on items 100 bucks and up.

Investing now will save headaches later...

I had an issue with a seller once and PayPal told me to get signature confirmation on any order over $250. That's considering its an off eBay sale. When in doubt, don't cheap out over $2.20 and just pull the trigger.

I will not send any expensive item out without it.
