| | Weakness of account, takedowns more viable? Hi there everyone.
If an account has had a history of a few takedowns, I've let it cool down for months, but on seller dashboard it still has not expired, I then list a new item which others are selling fine and it is not high risk and mine gets a mc019 takedown within 12hours of it being listed....
The item was listed on Italian ebay when my account is registered in Spain. Do these factors make my account weaker, basically I mean if I listed the item on an account which had no history of takedowns would it stay on?
Thanks! |
| GreenBean | 05-13-2013 06:42 AM | Yes, the account is weak.
What's with listing items just because other sellers list them? You should be a lot more careful to protect your accounts.
:ranger: |
ok, it because, others sell like 1 a day at least, and none of them get removed, would it have any thing to do with they are selling on their registered site?
or is it just because ive had previous takedowns? |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-13-2013 07:41 AM | It may well be a combination of the two.
It is better to list on your own EB and then make it visible worldwide, only costs a small amount. |
ye, but you just dont get the same market. If i list directly on a site, its the local peopls market, rather than worldwide. Thats where the dough is at |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-13-2013 08:04 AM | It you advertising an item as local when it is not local, then EB will catch on.
You have an account registered in that country, using an IP from the country, and all details matching for that country to be able to list an item locally in that country. |
no your wrong in fact. You can list direclty on any site, with your item location set to your country, so in the search results it would say from "england" or from "spain", yet it will appear directly on that site only.
You can even put item location to wherever you want also, i wouldnt recommend it, but you can in theory do what you want...
I was just asking why my items keep getting removed, they are mc019 takedowns form rights owner, but other seller are selling the same item day in day out, on accounts that have similar amount of feedback etc...
and there not just one seller, there are at least 5 to 10 different sellers... |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-13-2013 08:23 AM | Yes I know you can do that, but coupled with your take downs, it is best to avoid as you are finding out.
I list on the US site every now and then, and never have problems until one item gets pulled, then all the items I list from the same account on US EB get pulled |

or is it just because ive had previous takedowns? | Other sellers may have 'safer' accounts and take the risk. Their accounts may be attached to older ones too.
Their turn for the chop may be coming.
Your takedowns damage your status as well. |
ok, say i had never had a takedown, but listed directly on the forgein ebay site, in theory it shud be fine right? or wud it still get pulled?
always feels like im being singled out by ebay, and i do do my research regarding descriptions, images etc |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-13-2013 09:36 AM | On a brand new account, likely it would get pulled. You may be able to get away witha few auctions but it would not last long. |
ok, well the accounts i am using it on are quite old, and the ones i would use them on wudnt be brand new, so u reckon it wud work longer term? |
| JamesNorth101 | 05-13-2013 03:02 PM | Old as in registered a long time ago, or have they been selling for a long time? |

Only experimentation will determine and your specific category. I doubt that you will find the exact info to sustain in your category from the people having success but best of luck. Only way a thorough discussion can be made is knowing your item, your sellers and such (not that I want to know). You cant just assume on general business models.
All the best with your research |
thanks Rsot and Jamenorth, the accoutns were registered around a year ago, and have been selling since they were opened. Just ive had a lot of takedown and almost all my accounts, and thye just becoming weaker... but how are you supposed to know if an item will get removed if when i do my research everyones items sell all the time and never get removed, i watch almost all of them, and they all end...
I do research, find a product, try it, it gets removed, so on....
All i can say is that these products are not high risk, they are not really branded goods as such, obviosuly someone makes everything and they are not electronics, or goods that have seriously high demand in fact...
thanks |

thanks | I hear your hardship josh - the marketplace is hard and, truthfully, no one is going to give you solid tips on their game without a big cut of your pie.
You have to experiment HARD - try different listings, platforms, approaches - break your head open - it does not get easier. I do wish you the best - perhaps go hard at it like Sandy D with 100s of accounts and multitude of products - she is big. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:47 AM. | |
