ebay asking me to call them

Hello everyone ,
i recently received a message from ebay that my account will be restricted from selling until i call them to verify my info.

I had a live listing at that time and they let it be so nothing was removed just restricted me from listing new items. Its a stealth account almost a year now and when i tried to resolve it via email they refused and told me to call them.

Now why the heck should i call them , cant they call me? I used a forwarding number for the verification in the first place.
Also i have other stealth accounts with higher limits ie 30k per month , this one is only 2.5k per month but im in a dilemma whether to call them or not.

What is the best way to call them? I dont want to use my cell number so how do i go about this?

UK or USA account?

:juggle:

Is your number active is the first question. Usually if they ask you to call, it's because you have been flagged in some way - sell too quickly? high risk product? vero takedown? know of a link?

Greek account

I sold same stuff as i sell on other account , never been flagged on that account.

The funny thing is that in another account where i have way more higher selling limits & i have been issued 2 times a 7 day suspension from selling for various reasons violating ebay tos.

But they never asked me there to call them regarding that account. They just let me sell again.

And you keep violating eBay ToS on different accounts?

If you are guilty of that, you can expect that when you call in, most of the time they will just ban you outright.

I think you misunderstood me . I was referring to a different account .

In this specific account i havent done anything wrong , never been flagged in this account that they ask me to call them

''Never being flagged doesnt mean you aren't doing anything wrong.

- the problem is if you are selling the SAME stuff that you have been accused of violating ToS policy on other accounts, the moment you call in, the eB agent will see that "Oh hey this guy is selling things that are in violation of our policy. We have never restricted him...what should we do? Hmm BAN the account".

Please clarify if I am reading your situation wrong...

I never said i am selling a product that violates their tos.

i only referred that example to show that in another account i did some violations of ebay policy. ( for example let me be more specific, proposing to buyers to complete the sale out of ebay.) thats why i was issued a 7 day suspension from selling but nevertheless after that period they didnt bother me and let me sell normally on that account.

On the other hand on this account i did not violate their tos in any way and the product doesnt violate their tos and out of the blue they want me to call them.

Anyway the point is in what way can i call them, in case i decide to call them? Because if i decide not to call them the account will remain restricted from selling.

5 minutes of my life lost there.

I understood your examples fine, hyper'. :yar:

Go over all your accounts. If you can be certain you are not linkable in any way, then you have to make the choice of calling up or not calling up. Depends on the value of the account to you.

If the notice has no time frame, maybe consider waiting for a short period.
That could allow you to work out a new phone number to use.

My feeling is you may be linked, however.

Absolute proceed with caution.

Exactly - might as well call at this point - act politely, be professional, know your account info...if you aren't linked, you may be ok and restriction lifted.

That being if you ARE linked, you MAY be ok also but most likely, you will go down.

Plunge in and report back - action time.
