paying for ebay items without checkout

I won an item on an account with no attached paypal. I want to pay for it with another paypal so I need sellers pp email. I messaged a few times and seller is responsive but is scared to give out pp email address. Any ideas or suggestions on what i can do?

thanks

Dont pay for it with another pp - risking a link.

You can a) create a new paypal for the account and follow stealth principles (unless you had an old pp that was banned? then cancel this idea)

b) pay via ebay guest checkout - you MUST use stealth principles - NO OLD INFO - vary your address if you have to but nothing must be same, not even cookies

Dont risk guest checkout though.

there is a chance of getting limited.

If the seller is already 'spooked' as he appears because of your mentioning the email, check if he will accept anything other method. Maybe a vcc payment .

Have to ask. What was behing making a purchase then not wanting to do 'checkout'?

Dont tell me you are buying family jewels

I am not worried about linking they are both junk accounts but the ebay I do not want linked so I cant use ebay checkout or guest checkout for an item won by an ebay user (meaning me)

ebay checkout and guest checkout are not options for me

need an alternative and seller does not want to pp invoice me or give his pp email to me via messenger

rsot 06-08-2013 01:22 PM

Have you asked him for an alternative payment way that he will consider safe and agree to?

corleone 06-08-2013 01:56 PM

I usually will make up an excuse, like "hey, my computer is freezing every time I go to ebay checkout, can you please invoice me at my email address. You can see it in the ebay sold item email"

Once they send the paypal invoice, I will then send it as gift payment and email them the correct address directly to their email, not through ebay messages.

If they are still suspicious after this, then I will ask them to cancel the transaction.

I don't do it often, but every once in a while I like to use money in my stealth's with ebay purchases.

danshan 06-08-2013 02:10 PM

yeah I do the same thing all the time but this guy does not want to invoice or give his paypal email.

corleone 06-08-2013 02:53 PM

If he won't even invoice you through paypal, which is perfectly acceptable, then he needs to learn the ropes, what's he so scared of? When you send a payment you get their email anyway. Sounds like a weirdo to me.

danshan 06-08-2013 02:54 PM

Lol i agree a real pain but i want the item

MM78 06-08-2013 03:15 PM

Why not create a "Buying" account to avoid all these headaches?

Was thinking the same thing.

I have several buying only accounts myself.

I dont like to buy from my real account and then turn around and sell the item over again so I use other buying accounts. :thumb:

It may be that the buyer has already won the item and wants to pay for it right now...correct move as MM78 and Sandy D have pointed out is to create stealth buyer only account. I do this too in the event I want something

danshan 06-08-2013 06:16 PM

Yes want to pay for something already won

rsot 06-08-2013 06:18 PM

Figures - no response from the seller on other ways to pay? He is probably quite suspicious of a buyer who has no pp...who wants to pay with other pp...verified or not, I can see his point - his own protection

Have to commend you for your persistence. LOL.

You are a seller yourself.

Think from that pov.

Seller does not want to risk his account just to please you.

BY all means buy without attached paypals but at the very least pick sellers who offer other means of payment.

Go back to him & ask if he could accept any other method of payment. Tell whatever story you want.
:smash:

danshan 06-08-2013 09:27 PM

What is his risk? If i checkout with a bad paypal or send a direct payment with a bad paypal. How does that change his risk level?

GreenBean 06-08-2013 09:46 PM

His account may already be flagged....

He may have issues you know nothing of or he may not trust strange buyers on the internet who are intent on having their own way.

A few variables

I did not ask his motivation I asked the difference of risk.

GreenBean 06-08-2013 09:59 PM

Being flagged after a deal going bad is not a risk to you?

May be to that seller.

danshan 06-08-2013 10:14 PM

Yes it is but again how does that risk change from ebay checkou to direct payment?

He might had just had pp holds lifted on his account and is really afraid of causing problems...or he went through a recent ID verification...or he is operating stealth and worried...so many reasons :FF:

danshan 06-10-2013 01:53 PM

yes correct but how does that risk change from checkout versus direct payment?
