MC999 Error

Just got the MC999 Error... The only thing i can think that i did want did not wait all that long before i posted item for sale?

Is it worth calling or is it a lost cause?

Was it in regards to photos? Ebay has been sending some MC999 msgs regarding photos but it's basically just a reminder as there are no specific listings included in the body of the emails. I received it the other day but it has had no effect on my account. This is the email I got:

Dear XXXXXXXX,

Using high quality photos has shown to improve the chance of a sale by 5%*. That's why back in 2012 we asked all sellers to meet a few basic photo quality requirements that will be enforced beginning July 1, 2013. That day is approaching and we wanted you to know which of your listings need to be updated so they won't be blocked from relisting or removed. Please see the list further down in this email.

As a reminder, these are the photo quality requirements:

- Every listing needs to have at least one photo.
- Photos must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
- The primary photo for items in used condition can't be a stock photo.
- Photos can't have added borders, text, or artwork.
- Watermarks are allowed for ownership and attribution, but not marketing.

We appreciate everything you've done already to make sure your photos meet these requirements and help make eBay a great place to shop. To get more great help on our policies and tips for photos that help your items sell, please visit the following pages:

As always, thanks for selling on eBay.

Listing(s) not meeting eBay's picture requirements:

Thanks,
eBay

Try to fight for it.
You either win or lose the account at this point.
Will help you to gain experience in future account issues.
Have your info ready to go and try to put on a good show.

Let us know how it turns out.

Expand on what you did.

Might be the photo email or might be otherwise.

Your eBay account has been suspended because recent account activity has raised security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm--even unintentionally--to the eBay community.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any outstanding fees will be due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

We appreciate your understanding.

Thanks,

Also note, i am selling iphone parts.. none of the parts that i have listed have the apple logo (mostly cables) i dont know if that makes a difference.

my suggestion is if your pp stays good within 72 hours after the eb suspension, call them and ask what do you need to do in order to use the acc again, they may require id, proof of address and invoices for the items you list.

they see you as high risk, items you sell, quantity...

how old is the acc? you probably pushed too much too soon....if not linked.

Cables

:faint:

On a brand new account this are fatal.

:rip:

Agree - cables with iPhone designation = too high risk for this new account. You can try to salvage but start making backup accounts...build them for awhile with other sales (browing and bidding first)

Low end items...household items for example. I like handcrafted items too...but there are a few threads you can search on the forum.

People also have success with dollar shop stuff

Using the term 'iphone' was your downfall. Flags would have been raised just for this term.
