Don't even contact eBay about anything.

If you read on the forum that you should not contact eBay for anything... take this advice and listen to it. Don't do it. EVER.

I've contacted eBay to ask why a case that was allready refunded could be won by the buyer who then was refunded again..

Only to have the rep. tell me my question was transferred to the 'concerns' department and instantly ending the chat, without even replying to my question.

Next day i see my seller performance is manually set to below standard for USA, when my figures make me a above standard seller for all regions.

Nobody tells me why.. i did get a neg. fb from a buyer that was underage.. and reported the buyer.. i can't imagine it's that? The case i inquired about was from a German buyer. I have not been getting an outrageous amount of neg. feedback or other cases.

When i asked about it, I was told to contact ebay.com (i sell on ebay.uk) Now i have an email from them asking me to call to the US phonenumber..

I would like your input on:
Whether i should:
Call them to ask why i have been manually marked a below standard seller and what i can do about it?
Not call them and make sure my ratings get better.

Does anybody know if they will ask questions and which questions i could expect? I'm having multiple stealth accounts ready, but this one is in my real name, so i would like to salvage it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Some customers from ebay.de are more pain than they are worth.

But onwards to your concerns.

Real account/real info means I would fight to preserve it.

Firstly I would get all my info & have that ready.

I would try to make the call within the first hour of ebay.com being opened. ( Check the time differences. That way you should avoid 'offshore places).
So you make the call and you are speaking to a US staff. Introduce yourself and ask them for their name/staff number.

Simply say I have been asked to call ebay.com Could you please assist me and tell me what I can do. I am not honestly sure what is happening.

Avoid givng them too much. Try to follow what they say.
Soon as you get talking, you should get a sense of what they want.
Be polite and respectful.

This is how I have handled calls. As for their questions, just be calm.
Good Luck
:peace:

Yes i have found Germany buyers to be especially pita.. they are quick in opening cases and some don't speak english very well... leading to misunderstandings as they don't read listings. I don't sell to Germany any more.

Thank you so much for your advice.. Very valuable..

What kind of questions can i expect?
What questions have members that called Ebay been asked?
I would be nice if i could come prepared.

Never had any issues. Most of the time if you are smart enough you can get plenty of information from them in sneaky ways if needed.

I completely stopped international sales because of this and just a lot of fraud. Before stealth I was selling alot to Germany and Russia , they were out bidding everyone only to find a month later( already suspended though) charge back galore . Once I went stealth all domestic which means fast shipping almost no scammers and same sales.

But good luck hope you get a helpful representative , take GreenBean's advice always top notch

I only offer international sales come Christmas time, and I only ever send tracked with a signature.

ebay won't let you close an account. i paid all the fees: 2.52 and they said i owed 1 cent for "next month." i sold nothing so i owed nothing. where did they tack on that 1 cent? is is a tactic to stop people from closing their account by forcing 1 cent onto their account?

then i read that even if you are successful closing your account - they will not close it for 6 months and it sits there where it looks like its active but you can't touch it - but its not closed, either.

this is true. it is especially true of italy sales. one sale to italy, they said they did not receive it and it was tracked to their door. took 3 mos for tracking to prove it via usps. by then, they had the item and the money from chargeback.

or, they buy and after you say you sent it, they file a claim and win.

i know that happens domestically US, too - buy and say its not the right size - and the seller gets a chargeback - but there should be some consideration given for shipping times and return times for oveseas.

granted, the smartest thing to do is not sell out of country for that very reason.

however, the german items are often have so much character, especially old snapshots. so buying from there is always fun. i think german buyers should have the same option, but it's not worth it on higher priced items.

and, i've been "told" to invoice the contents at less and i won't do that. they try to get you to say you shipped a dishonest invoice and if you don't say that, they say they won't pay the customs and file a claim. they always win, too and the items arrives and you never see it again and you get billed by PP.

EB and PP never truly close accounts, and they never get rid of information.
