What happens after a USPS "notice left"

I requested sign conformation on a USPS delivery. It was a new buyer so I just wanted the extra protection...

The tracking says "notice left" since the 6th. What happens now? Will USPS send the item back if the buyer doesnt pick it up? Im guessing this should happen soon?

The buyer needs to bring in the piece of paper with the delivery info etc.
If the buyer doesnt pick up you do get shipped back.

Buyer can collect from USPS if they bring in the slip or should be able to rearrange delivery. If neither of these happen after a set period of time the item will be returned to you.

Usually, three notices are left. The final notice tells your buyer that if the package is not claimed by XX/XX/2013, the package will be returned to the sender.

The USPS will make arrangements to re-deliver the item, or it can be picked up at the local post office. It is NOT difficult to make these arrangements in most cases.
