Link via Printer on Wi-Fi

Hi,

I've tried searching but didn't find any info. Can I get linked via my printer on the wi-fi? Because the printer has the same IP address and I'm using it on all my accounts...

No, you can't get linked.

ocmajid 07-22-2013 11:18 PM

What if I'm logged into ebay on the printer? does it have its own IP?

MM78 07-22-2013 11:22 PM

Your Printer is on your Private Network...Not the Internet. When you print something from the net it first goes through your Modem --> Router ---> Printer. Your Printer does not have a Public IP, it has an Internal IP.

Is that the same when my printer is has airprint and is wireless?

MM78 07-22-2013 11:31 PM

It is the same, again...when you print, your printer is printing from within a Private Network.

If it linked I would have been a goner a long time ago with multiple printers sitting here to use on different networks.

MM is one of the network genius guys here..... right mm? :>

Could link if you email document to ebay via your printer/scanner.

As long as you just print, you are ok.

That would be a link via image if I understand your insinuation...and this concept is discussed in many threads here - you would be using your printer as a "camera/scanner" so to speak.

Yeah. You can scan and email directly from most recent printers.
