cruise ship internet

Is it safe to log on from the ships satellite Internet for ebay as I have to check for things.

JamesNorth101 07-24-2013 03:43 PM

If it is a communal internet, then no its not. Basic principle, you want to be in control of the IP and access to that IP

An0nym0u$ 07-24-2013 03:58 PM

Same theory as visiting a library, coffee shop, or any shared wifi network. You don't know who else was accessing that public IP. Anything that is available to the public should be avoided.

rsot 07-24-2013 03:58 PM

Any public wifi has a chance of being overused by people and causing you IP link problems. Avoid - use your cellphone to tether at least or dongle. Fundamental principle of stealth Hockey12

You would sensibly not have listings to deal with while on vacation

You would sensibly reduce chances of issues with matters that could harm your account

And there is your problem.....

Avoid using a strange IP. Avoid that for PayPal too

Forget linking being an issue... try to even get a page to load using cruise ship internet.

Last time I tried it cost me $20 to get the login page of gmail to load lol

Furious George 07-24-2013 08:17 PM

Cruise ship internet is super expensive. I wouldn't touch it unless it is an emergency.

And seriously, enjoy your vacation and cut off your laptop!

rama 07-24-2013 08:20 PM

I agree, cruise ships internet is very expensive, too slow and you are not in control of anything.

Try to avoid it even if you got the money... you will risk your business.
Have fun & enjoy your vacation

unkown5454 07-25-2013 01:29 AM

From now on, I am just going to advise you to do exactly opposite of ste/alth so you stop cluttering this forum.

Please use cruise ship internet for every account you have. Your sales will increase 100-fold. I promise. Do not delay in this matter.

Ebayorbust 07-25-2013 02:14 AM

Hockey, don't forget to take your Blackberry or iPad with you. :)

joesshooze 07-25-2013 08:02 AM

Unkown with the strike blow :) hilarious - poor Hockey12 - feel for you but...you still seem to avoid reading the guide let alone the forum hot issues...it is a pity :s

unkown5454 07-25-2013 01:24 PM

He has purchased the stea/lth guide rsot...that's what blows my mind the most.

rsot 07-25-2013 02:40 PM

Purchasing is one thing...reading is another...might be foreign concept for him :FF:

JamesNorth101 07-25-2013 02:46 PM

Does not often seem to read any of the replies to his threads. Often asks the same question over and over. Very strange indeed.

GreenBean 07-25-2013 06:11 PM

Recap for Hockey12

Avoid at all costs using the ship's internet.

Too risky
Too expensive
Prepare your account to cope with being on vacation.

No reruns of the questions.

This is dangerous and will harm your account.
