Singniture confirmation not needed with buyers who have Great feed back?. 900 plus
 

I normally don't use signature required on people with 200 300 500 900 or other positive feedback. On items over 200$ 400$. Smart?. i have never ran into any problems.

Also Is it a good idea to use it at all. when you don't have access to the ebay address on file?. What if the person isnt there a and they return it to the the wrong address?. Thanks.

I don't care if the person has 4,000,000 feedback! any item over $200 for me is well worth the Signature Confirmation.

If you feel like you can afford to lose the amount you invested into your item then by all means, keep going the way your going.

Depends on the item. I wont get sign conformation on an item that fits in a 6x4x4 box but an item the size of a desktop computer, yes.

It is not the size of the item that matters, it is the value. If you send 100 items, each worth $200, and signature confirmation costs $2.20 per package, that adds $220 to your costs. If there are no problems, or only one problem, then the signature confirmation would not be worth it. If you have 2 problems, then it would save you $180. So, figure out how many packages have historically had this problem and calculate your loss rate as a percentage of packages sent. Then you can make a business decision as to whether or not it is worth it.

This answer is going to be different for each seller depending on what you sell. Some types of items attract more scammers than others. Also keep in mind that while signature confirmation will help you win a seller protection case, it probably won't help much if the package is lost or damaged. For that you would need to insure each package.

Just because a buyer has superb feedback does not 100% guarantee that YOUR transaction will go as planned - sig confirmation is a good tool to protect yourself against oddities...package gets lost in transition? or taken by mailman once left on doorstep? Few ideas of different ways things can go wrong

The Seller Protection program through Paypal is for items sold up to $249.99. Items that are sold at or above $250, require signature confirmation.

In fact, if you pay through PP, the box for signature confirmation will be automatically be checked (you can choose to uncheck this at your own risk).

I learned this the hard way not realizing what it was for. I thought Tracking # was sufficient to win a "did not receive" case. Ended up losing the case even though the tracking # shows it was delivered to address.

I think the buyer knew this loophole and exploited it. I'm out the product and $300. Hard lesson learned on PP's wonderful "seller protection" program.

You've really got to make a business decision here. If Best Buy required signature confirmation for all of their packages, they would spend a ridiculous amount of money, however, if it saved them more, it would make sense. Make sense?

It's up to you, but sometimes the buyers with the most feedback are the ones you have to watch out for.

Personally, I never use signature confirmation. I sell items over 250.00 all the time. 90% of the items I sell are less than that, but I sell 10-20 items per week over 250.00 and never use signature confirmation.

It's very rare to have someone say they didn't receive something that DC shows as received, and that's usually good enough for me.
In the last 500 or so items I've mailed that were over 250.00 I haven't had anyone claim not received. That's over $1000 I've saved, so if someone does decide to file a claim, I'll still come out ahead financially.

If it's really expensive, over 800.00, then I will purchase it, and usually ship it by fedex or ups which is a little safer than usps.
