Contact eBay about feedback revision?

Hello, I see you guys are very helpful and help is what I need! . So I sell items that basically get emailed to the buyer for a small price ($2-6), therefore I never have tracking information and what not.

So I had a buyer that left negative feedback but after a few messages agreed to change it. I sent a feedback revision but the buyer claims they can't get it work, and it's saying the listing ended and they have tried multiple times. They were replying so I do believe them.

I got the buyer to send me a message saying "problem solved with seller, please revise feedback", now my question is, if I contact eBay and ask them to revise it, will they look at my account and ban me since I am selling these kinds of items?

Or will they just look at the proof and not care?

JamesNorth101 07-26-2013 03:04 AM

I would not risk it myself. There is no knowing exactly what eBay will do if they look at your account.

jeffweico 07-26-2013 03:33 AM

I agree with JamesNorth101. I wouldn't risk it. eBay does not really like digitally delivered goods.

GreenBean 07-26-2013 03:40 AM

Agree with both posters.

There is the issue of using your feedback revision but also a more important one of allowing ebay to 'look' at your account.

Digitally delivered goods are not liked by ebay.

For the future, there are options you should consider for selling these items. Important to know and implement them.

OP, buyer stated that he/she cant get the revision to work - let it be. You gave it a shot. Make more good sales to outweigh the negative feedback.

All the best

OP, you have tried having the buyer revise the feedback - eB is unlikely to intervene and could cause you worse problems than 1 neg feedback

ApplesAndBananas 07-26-2013 11:11 AM

Thanks for the replies guys, I will just keep selling then!

An0nym0u$ 07-26-2013 11:43 AM

Ultimately, the decision is yours. You need to weigh the risk of contacting eBay reps (which can put your account under more scutiny)...or live w/ the neg feedback.

A neg feedback does not hurt you as much as you would think.

ApplesAndBananas 07-26-2013 04:07 PM

Alright guys thanks for the feedback, all of you guys were very right about one little negative feedback.

OP said buyer cannot work out how to revise feedback.

ApplesAndBananas 07-26-2013 11:34 PM

Guys! Got a quick little problem, out of the bloom the buyer asked me "did they fix it", he assumed that by him sending that message about the problem being solved that it would be fixed, what do I do? What if he contacts eBay for me ?! Help lol

Ignore it. I doubt your feedback revision ranks high in the buyer's life. If you don't reply I would reckon the buyer will move on and forget about it.

Your average ebay buyer is like an infant. They can't read properly and have an attention span of about 5 minutes. ;)

Wow some buyers have no honesty, after the buyers pays, I send them their item literally seconds after they pay via a eBay message, then I mark it as shipped so I can get my funds ASAP, most leave positive feedback saying "thank you fast delivery, A++ seller, then a few days later they open a case saying that they didn't receive their item, or they need an update on the shipping info. It sucks since I cant do either lol. I have too refund everytime to avoid any trouble, anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like your selling digital good. Only advise would be to stop selling non tangible goods, or send the digital goods on a USB stick to the customer.

Solved with communication that you are still working out the options - if it has been more than 7 days that you sent out the buyer feedback revision request. the revision will have expired.

This is another error you are making.

By now you now, ebay frowns on digital items.

Why have you not considered sending out a CD?

Do you know of that option?

ApplesAndBananas 07-27-2013 08:14 PM

Actually I have never heard of that, how will that work when I am sending an item through eBay? I sell like 30 a day too btw, thanks again!

You don't sent it though eBay, you post it...

I am pretty lost haha, post it?

JamesNorth101 07-28-2013 11:58 AM

Burn the digital information onto a CD and the post the CD to the buyers house.

ApplesAndBananas 07-29-2013 12:59 PM

Sorry to bump but have another question, so a few buyers haven't paid in like 4 days, I opened cases and 1 buyer called me out on selling my items, I quickly apologized and closed the case, then marked the item as paid, so he doesn't get a strike. With this in mind , I closed the other cases with "marked item as paid", now will they contact me asking where is their item even though they didn't pay? I am fine with paying the little final value fee for marking the item as paid.

GreenBean 07-29-2013 06:40 PM

WOAH!!!!!

This type of behavior will get you into troulbe with ebay.

Stop doing these things now.

:nono:

bigboddie 07-29-2013 10:35 PM

Normally I wouldn't say this but----WTFudge ARE U DOING???????????

Digi goods are a sure fire way to get banned, and your current behavior is really mind boggling!!!

change the game plan STAT

ApplesAndBananas 07-29-2013 11:06 PM

Aww man I didn't want to anger the buyers lol... when will I get the hammer
:(

MM78 07-29-2013 11:14 PM

@AppleandBananas, You really should just get another item to sell, preferably a physical item and not digital.

ApplesAndBananas 08-04-2013 02:05 PM

Alright fellas, got another problem, so in my listing I provided some pics of proof on how my items work. Now after some searching I found out that someone made the EXACT same listing of mine, used my exact pics that I made, and a description that is the same thing as mine. And he made his items cheaper, do I just leave it since I don't want attention if I report him, or just report him and know that eBay wont bother me

An0nym0u$ 08-04-2013 03:21 PM

To me, drawing attention to your account means calling up eBay and putting your account in front of human eyes w/ someone who is a "mouse click" away from causing issues w/ your account.

You can choose the option to report the seller as this does fall under "infringes intellectual property" section of the complaint. I highly doubt this would draw attention to your account (unless you're reporting every listing out there!).

BUT you should also take steps to avoiding future issues like this by...

1. take pictures w/ watermark OR write your ebay name on a paper and take the picture w/ your ebay name. they can still steal your pic and photoshop it out, but most ppl are lazy and would just move onto another picture that doesnt have an ebay name.

2. you can disable the "right click" button on your page if you know html code.

in the ebay listing, it gives you the option to create using standard format or switching to html code. you can first create your listing w/ standard format and when finished, switch to html code. at the very bottom of the code, just cut and paste the option to disable right click button....

No Copy and Paste Script

there are still ways to bypass this if a person wants to view the source code of your page...but again, alot of ppl dont know how to and won't waste their time with your listing and will move onto someone else's.

ApplesAndBananas 08-04-2013 05:39 PM

Wow thanks! Now I looked up that when you report someone for that, they will ask you for your listing to prove that they copied you, is this true?

I can't say with certainty, but that's certainly a risk you will need to weigh. Is it worth it to report the person but risk attention to your account?

My advice to you is to just let it go but fix your listings going forward using the methods I mentioned earlier. Best of luck w/ your decision.

That`s your competition - report them if you wish but understand that eyes will be on your account.

Get few backup accounts going and rotate sales to lessen the risk

I really want to but I am not on stealth and don't plan to be due to my limited amount of resources, so I will just ignore since its not worth it haha

rsot 08-05-2013 05:04 PM

Ignoring stealth? Not the wisest approach

Don't get me wrong I like what you guys are doing, but that would not help me since I do not have the resources

What resources would you need? Does not cost much to go stealth at all...

Then just purchase a ready made one in the marketplace on this forum. I did and they've worked out great.

ApplesAndBananas 08-18-2013 11:50 PM

Guys! So I have a selling limit of 100 items, this douche (probably my competitor) bought out 11 of my items and ended my listing, which now I have to start up again to gain popularity, I opened my unpaid item case and got my final value fee credit, BUT I didn't get the amount of items he bought credited back toward my limit?! Why and how do I prevent this?!

You can't really until your limits reset but the unpaid item case will work against him so he's only black marking his own account unless of course your competitor is using stealth like us! Another reason why you should start learning stealth!

You should also seriously consider the advice many on here have given you and that is to move away from what is a highly competitive and risky item that's only working against you (especially as your account seems quite new and limited) and wont earn you much money!

If you want to be successful at eBay or Amazon then start learning to do what the successful people on here do and have already prob gone though the same mistakes and more that you are now making.

Also have you considered looking at Aspkins SFB (six figure boss)? That's a guide that will help you to earn a serious online income if you put the effort in to learn and apply what's written there!
