Payment not received on ebay, but paypal has transaction ID!
 

This is very strange.

Customer complained to me that item not received yet.
When I checked their username on seller manager, it shows that "Buyer has not completed checkout" , "Item is pending payment through paypal"

Which is why I obviously didn't send the item.

When I asked the buyer for paypal transaction ID, he gave me it and I checked it on paypal, turns out there is a payment from this user on paypal for the same item which ebay told me I never got the payment!

This is the second time it has happened.

What is going on? Glitch?

It happens to me from time to time. Also the tracking info from paypal to ebay does not always update on ebay or other way around, from ebay to paypal.

Since you got the payment just print out the label and ship out.

Yes i have had these payment glitches at least 15 times.
So i just check the awaiting payment section now in ebay just in case.

Look at the actual transaction for this sale on Paypal, if it says "Pending" it means the payment hasn't cleared yet, meaning they used an e-cheque to pay for the item, this usually takes 5-7working days to clear.

If it says the payment transaction is "Completed" (on Paypal) then it may be an eBay glitch if the funds actually showed up in your Paypal account.


If it is indeed "Pending" just contact the buyer and let him know that by using an e-cheque the money takes 5-7 days to clear, it's to do with the actual bank system which is why it's so slow and not to worry, once it clears you will send the item.

Had this happen probably 10 times now.

Paypal UK is full of these glitches - payments not going through or delayed, lack of e-mails - even my PP UK had 2 payments without showing update on eB. Annoying for sure so I have to monitor eB, PP and e-mails - triple steps

Had this happen just the once. I now check the total days sales on each eBay account and match it up to my PP balance to make sure there are no indiscrepancies
