Top rated power seller one policy violation severely affects best match?
 

Sorry for all caps, I have to say ebay has absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced in any industry I have been a part of.

I have been selling for 2 years the last 8 months successfully, 400 postive feedback responses 100% Excellent DSR, all perfect, prompt refunds and same day shipping.

My items which I have spend months researching my competitors, always rank on the first few pages, in the last 3 days, I have noticed that all my listed items are in the last 10%.

I have been told by have a dozen CSR and supervisors that I am an excellent seller and a credit to ebay the one violation, which I disagree with would not affect my Best Match rankings.

My sales are dead, as that how I sell my items, by Best Match, I am waiting for an appeal by Trust and Safety just in case the one violation ruined my best match ranking.

Any feedback on this??? My listing was for the sale of Ivory Gun grips., my listing stated that the "Bonded Ivory grips age like genuine Ivory"

Which they do, as soon as I was notified, I changed the listing.

It seems like an extreme punishment for one infraction, if my items don't rank they don't sell.

You sold or tried to sell substandard phake stuff what did you expect?

Need to be more careful how you work things.

If its not X, don't say it is, don't even say it is like X. Simply say it is Y

I'm guessing that the like genuine is what raised the antennas of the ebay bots. It can be construed by ebay as "not authentic". It's possible they flagged your listing on those keywords and any other keywords that were similar in the body of your listing.

Avoid using misleading titles like this going forward.

I'm guessing that eBay hated the term "bonded Ivory" when in fact it was plastic. eBay hates it when you use the modified name of the real thing when describing a simulant, like saying something is 'permagold' when in fact it is gold plated brass.

So you e-mail T&S about your lack of sales? But your account is in good standing? Ho boy - hope it works out for you, let the forum know what they say - would be a good learning experience.

Just because you have no sales right now does not mean you should be e-mailing eB and asking why....they are known to just flag/suspend accounts when they start reviewing....hope not in your case.

Wow you guys are jaded, first off Bonded Ivory is a powdered genuine Ivory which is compressed under pressure with an epoxy resin base, its not plastic.

I didnt complain about my lack os sales, I questioned by Best Search rank, since it had dropped considerably. I still have no answer to this.

Have had other users like you whose ranking has been dinged when ebay has 'touched' the account. Off hand I think stanislav reported a problem.

I dream of a pretty little derringer with grips made of bonded ivory.

In fact I simply dream of a derringer, period.

If it was good enough for John Wayne & Patton to carry such firearms with ivory grips but a bigger caliber, will be good enough for me LOL.

Thanks for reply, I read your posts, the problem I have is that I'm stubborn and have worked hard on my account, so getting the runaround is unacceptable to me!

I have spoke to about a dozen people in Trust and Safety at this point, I will keep trying, but it seems Ebay has no answer, I would almost rather have them say "we don't know why this happens but it does" That might open them up to a lawsuit.

I just purchased over 4000 worth of inventory so I'm not to happy, had to convert to all auctions, to get my items to show!

From the mish-mash of info I have been told, what happened to you is usual yet ebay never give an explanation.
