Default Ebay Removes Policy Compliance & APPEALS Process - ebay Guardrail Program

Hi everyone,

Is it just my account or has the Policy Compliance disappeared from the Seller Dashboard?

If not, does anyone know why it's suddenly gone?

Sorry if this has already been asked but i can't find the answer anywhere

Thanks in advance

ebay UK are introducing some supposedly helpful improvements for sellers.

They started some time ago.

Some changes apply for TRS & power sellers.

There are more coming in mid-September.

There's a post by JamesNorth101 which touches on the topic.

At the moment, what is happening is not clearly defined.

At this moment it may not be nice for sellers.

Typical ebay.

Crazy if they change the dashboard around. For some it is their only yard-stick to check the state of their account.

Well if we cant know the policy standard anymore the only advice i can give is when you get a 30 day selling ban then your account = very low and this is your last chance

a 7 day ban = Low

First time with no ban = Mediam

if you get the 30 day ban and you need to let your account rest for 6 months then you need to make note of the date of your 30 day suspention and count 6-7 months from that date before using the account again

Yes, I was looking for that earlier and had to look deeper to find it, let me see if I can find it.

Its at the bottom of your account page, another joke from ebay.

I was looking at the D blocks at the bottom, scroll down, see the dashboard summary, there is a link below it to go to dashboard, this does not make any D sense, they want us to comply and now make it a project to get to it.

I did an earlier post about this, they have a link down in that part but guess what I think it is removed now. I was reading this that they took it away, I haven't looked for it today so far.

Exclamation Ebay Removes Policy Compliance & APPEALS Process - ebay Guardrail Program

It has been mentioned in other topics that the policy compliance tab is now invisible in your seller dashboard. That's not really surprising or new.

What is interesting is more information on ebay's Guardrail program.
Which handles seller restrictions, terminations, etc. Specifically it ELIMINATES ALL FORMS OF APPEAL for account re-instatement

Once your account falls below standards or receives a secret amount of policy violations the account is gone. No appeals are possible.

The link below to the article also has a Youtube link to a slideshow about the Guardrail program and some general ideas about how it works and what criteria it uses.

Pretty poor on eBays part though

Easy to overcome to an extent though, just keep notes of everytime an account gets a certain violation.

I am aware, but what the interesting part is the Guardrail Program and its parameters.

Sellers need to be reminded though, everything they do has an effect.
Every single DSR, negative, and ebay case, and now more than ever eBay is trying to kill off as many "violators" as they can.

The eCommerce article sure explains the rash of MC999's that are repaired by a phone call to EB.

Here is another interesting video from YouTube. This guy with eBay experience makes a lot of sense. Apparently, 15,000 sellers just lost their accounts.

Guy in the video gives some very good advice in generally, keeps a lot more in PayPal than I would ever be comfortable with though.

Exactly, I think everyone just needs to be constantly reminded and alert.

The guardrail program I mentioned earlier is just the tip of the iceberg, but it publicly admits and shows APPEALS for re-instatement are futile, i.e. don't exist.

I'm not saying everyone sells phakes, or uses some questionable selling practices, but it simply doesn't matter to eBay.

We're all be ready to or continue to expand into other channels or

I was one of the accounts that got hit on August 6th. I was making $10k profit reselling high end designer clothing, everything legitimate. They closed my account but luckily I had a stealth to back it up. There seems to be a huge storm coming if this trend of mass account closures continues.

Great video. But I think everyone here has been there and done that. Still worthwhile hearing it again for reinforcement.

I like the dudes rant. It is right on point. Seriously as most people on here probably are I wake up every day never knowing wtf might happen to a EB/PP I am associated with. I do find it strange the policy compliance rating is gone.

I have no idea what they are doing. I am solely speculating but are small stealth seller competing with the big guys on eBay which the same products are on Amazon I personally can not confirm or deny but think those are the first people they are targeting.

I do believe if you sell more unique items that eBay does not compete with a site like Amazon you are more likely given more leeway. Anyone who disagrees with me please feel free to say so.

But it does seem to me like, even though selling on eBay has gotten extremely harder the past 3-4 years. I do think they are targeting small sellers who compete with the big sellers on eBay whom are competing with Amazon.

Just my opinion. Fell free to disagree with me. It does seem from what I have heard and my established xperience. Getting the boot from eBay itself for an account is more and more for generic items often on Amazon. Not unique, used or household type items as Sand D always talks about. Obviously if you sell Vero or even items that may fall into that category you can run into trouble.
