How to rank high in best match
 

My account is power seller and my titles are similiar to high best ranked match sellers.

Yet my auctions are badly buried. Why is this? I have many different types of postage options listed on bin.

I had a auction removed by ebay on this account days ago. No hits in my dashboard but a little warning. Would this mess with my newer bins? I dont think so but it's jus a thought.

There is no one set answer to this.

Its all about experimentation.

There are certain things you can do to improve rankings, but no one is going to give out this advise on an open forum for all their competition to see.

Play around with your auction titles, postage options, pictures ect until you get the results you desire.

In my experience there are many things that will get you to the top. I was in the same boat as you.

My product was the same as another sellers and less money. I was always below them. First thing is to check your competitors custom item specifics. Is there anything in there that would get more search results from his vs yours. If so fix your specifics.

Second thing is to get popular. eBay will always show an item higher if it has a good sales reputation. Set your price way lower, maybe even losing a bit of money. After you start getting sales increase your price slowly, little by little until you are at where you want to be.

Third thing is if you are selling a multiple quantity item, how many does it show in stock? If you have 100 or 50 in stock then when you sell an item the percentage of your sale to in stock is very low. Keep your in stock number around 20 to 25. Your percent to stock ratio will be higher so you will appear higher in results. Best of of luck to you.

I've noticed keeping the stock low and just adding more as it sells helps a lot. Was on top after a week by doing this. But sometimes eBay is stupid and just pushes you off the page for no reason happened many of times to me....

Reread what davsar stated.

Keep in mind that if your account has issues (past claims, lower DSR, etc) that could affect the ranking

Recently eBay updated their Seller policy and basically admitted that they discriminate on seller's search results, if they want to. If they look at your listing, and it doesnt appeal to them, they can make it so your auction never sees the light of day.
