ebay returns?
 

if i coordinate a return with a buyer and issue a refund through paypal, does it ebay pick up on it and refund fees?

No, EBay will not issue you a refund for the fees. Your best bet would be to issue the refund through ebay which will then initiate a fee reversal.

You would need to manually open a case on your side to obtain FVF's from eBay.

To recoup the eBay FVF's you would need to open a the 'resolve a problem' option and choose 'buyer is returning item'.

If, however, a case was already opened against you...then once the case closes, the FVF's are credited towards your account.

If no case is opened and you work out a return to the buyer, you must open "Cancel transaction" and buyer must accept for you to get a refund of FVF.

Yup, have to open a case saying the buyer is returning the item for a refund. And either have them agree with or wait the 7 days until you can close it yourself.

Now days, I do my best to avoid returns at all. In my cases I am willing to give a buyer a partial refund and take a small loss rather than have to deal with taking and item back. Everyone is different. For me returns=hassle, stress, etc. I prefer to just get it over with.

The one exception is if the open a case on eBay not as described etc, then you check the box for having them return. Once you complete that I do believe you don't have to file your own case to get the eBay fees back. Knock on wood but it has been a while since I have had to go that route.
