eBay changing search algorithm? Recent?

Hey guys,

I noticed over the last few weeks that eBay's search totally changed for my product, as well as similar products after talking to a few people.

It was also possible to get more exposure by posting auctions (even though my product is a Buy It Now type of good).

Has anyone else experience this?

UK has recently changed due to new changes in affect with TRS or Premium as its now being listed on the actual listings.

Many posts on here though about increase and decrease in sales, me and a few others on this forum are actually experimenting with listings and will post our findings on here although this is for eb UK.

Might want to try some experimentation yourself.

No real changes on my part - limited niche though - best of luck.

What is premium?

There are sellers in my niche that have lower feedback score, no Top rated.. and basically same listing but yet they come up higher than me.

Anyone else have any input from their experiences?

Re: eBay changing search algorithm? Recent?

I get a head of a lot of top rated sellers on my accounts that are just standard accounts with almost perfect DSRs, WHEN I List BIN I always do 3 day listings and find my listing one or second spot .

DSRs play the biggest role I feel in your overall account status, if u have 100% feedback u can still have 2 low DSR ratings that can hurt u but you can sometimes have 2 negatives and almost perfect DSRs , so it's all about DSRs , now I try and do all free shipping and I ship out same or next day even though I list 1 or 2 day handling , at least 2 categories are covered by perfect DSRs, then make sure u answer questions right away

In the UK when you are a top rated seller you have to make your listing qualify for what would be a top rated seller status, its not good enough your account qualifies for top rated, now your individual listing also have to qualify to certain criteria like free shipping and a express shipment option etc.

When they do qualify, they show a TRS style badge but its been renamed as Premium, so the listing basically says that this seller offers a premium service as oppose to just saying your a top rated seller. This is now in affect in the UK but not sure about else where

Re: eBay changing search algorithm? Recent?

I have 5 stealths, 4 of them have 10/1000 and 1 10/500. The 10/500 is not getting as high of prices as the other accounts. This account so far has 5 feedbacks, and for some strange reason, it gets less exposure than the ones with 0 feedbacks. Sometimes the price could be as high as 70-100% difference! This is a bit disappointing. I'm thinking that it really does have to do with the 500 dollar limit. I'm thinking that if my stuff goes over 50 bucks, then I would exceed my dollar limits, so Ebay tries to control it? It always seems to get less watchers too. For example, one stealth with 10/1000 and 0 feedback gets 7 watchers so far with this 10/500, I'm getting 3, both ending at the same time. Sux.

Just searched for my own items right now with certain key words. Out of the 8 pages of results, the one with 10/500 is on the 7th page while the other 2, one with 0 feedback, and the other 4, are all on the second page. I guess this has to do with selling limits.
