Listing with telephone number in description..
 

Hi everyone,

I have a vehicle i want to sell on ebay, but all my accounts are stealth...

and I would like the customers to call my real accessible phone number as the one on the account (I used tollfreeforwarding to verify the acc, now it is not live anymore)

The phone number i want to be used, was linked to an account which got banned 4years ago.

any suggestions on what to do?

Get another phone number that they can contact you on would be my advise.

As soon as you put that banned number anywhere in eBay it is possible it will be picked up on and used to link to an old account

You can always tell your potential buyers to email you and tell them to leave their phone number so you can call them back, as sooner as you receive their email.

In any event at the very least it will draw attention and prompt possible verification or far worse.

Don't use that banned phone number at all costs...it's a bad simple link

Using anything from a banned account can be deadly even if it is only in the description.

Back in the day I put my phone number on my description until some idiot called at 3 am and said I am here to pick up my item can you please come outside and I will pay you.

Yes they drove from 3 states away and showed up at my actual house to pick it up.

So I dont put in any phone number.

Wow you brought up old memories of my early heavy sales days too - few buyers would ask to call me up for which I agreed - but a few would call incessantly. Even had one call just to chat about her day and complain about her life....

Obvious and safest suggestion is to NOT do that. Avoid linking yourself.

thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated :), a new number would seem the easiest option, but since im selling in the UK and the item is in the UK, i would need a virtual english number as I am in Spain. I have one, but its the "banned" one....

Get a new virtual English number - via Net or speak to people - not the end of the world...

This was back in the early days before you were on ebay. 1996 or so. Then no one used anything but your real address.

Did not take me one day to get a po box back then after knowing some idiots would trespass just to make sure they got their item.

Many antiquers I know still use their home address so it is no big deal to most.

Ebay forced me to learn and adjust which turned out to bea good thing.

I thank them daily for what they have done. They don't know how much they forcedd me to find a way to defeat them in so many ways.

I also thank them. I would never have dreamed to be able to have many options and hopefully never be at their mercy.

haha, I rememeber being a kid and riding my bike to the PO with packages in my bookbag and picking up money orders! Atleast once a week.
