Are members here glad stealth is so hush hush
 

I frequent a selling forum and below is an example of so called experienced sellers giving advice - this guy has 4000 + posts.

Just shows how little some people know .... but I guess if stealth was common knowledge then EBay would tighten up their safeguards!

To make it clear this isn't my advice or thoughts but that of a supposed experienced ebay seller below:

"By partner do you mean business partner or your other half? When you say connected to do you mean the household address? If it's the same IP address, I doubt they'd ban you for that. If a friend signed into eBay at my house and his account got suspended, I doubt it would be connected to mine. Only if it's the same household address would it be. Close your partners account. If they have under 100 feedback, they obviously don't use it much anyways. I personally wouldn't risk it. I'm sure he'd understand if you ask.

Wrong sadly, theres been some pretty stupid storys around on behalf of eBay banning someone elses account as it ties in with someone else."

your post made me think about a few things. Before me knowing anything about stealth and this forum, I was just an innocent and very small Ebay buyer and seller. I use to buy things for others, ship to any address, log in from anywhere in Europe (I do travel sometime) both in Ebay and Paypal without care too much on the computer I was using and on the IP I was on. This worked perfectly fine and just once I have been contacted by Ebay asking for phone verification because I was using a "suspected" connection/computer.
Now, reading this forum in the last 10 days, it seems to me that there are quite some rules I broke behaving the way I did but my account was suspended for other reasons. If Ebay is going to tight up their safeguard it is very risky also from their point of view. They will start to ban and block more and more innocent users that will be a high % at some point... the empire could start to crumble...
Just a thought.

Hi, i know a bit about stealth without practicing it yet as ive been lurking for almost 12 months. The message i put was from a seller on a well known forum with 4000 posts who obviously didn't know anything about being linked and it surprised me how little he knew.

I agree with what you are saying Themav, it's shocking what you read on other sites, I don't tell too many people about stealth, it'll just make it harder for us lot in the long run if more people know.
