Seller Account Restricted
 

Hi Guys

on the 13/09/13 My account was placed below standard and my selling limits where reduced to 27items permonth/ or £1000 whichever comes first, anyway today i received an email saying my seller account has been restricted blah blah blah! but there was no time span given!
I have a second account which I have been using for around 3 months, that account is above standard, the accounts both have the same address but I have no changed that, Is there anyway in which ebay will close that 2nd account which is above standard ?

If it's linked , meaning your using both on the same user account , IP, same password, if ur doing just one of these than it is highly likely and usually a matter of time could be an hour could be 8 months but usually they will catch this


Just seen same address which is a strong link so you are linked but you never know, make accounts link free , start right away and hopefully by the time they get to that u will have some nice matured stealths going full steam

Agree with the shark, only time and ebay will tell when your 2nd account will go down. Personally I would not sell too much on that account because one day....WHAM!!! gone...

I had two accounts linked like you mentioned and after 3 months, I called to request higher selling limits and that is when they found out that the accounts were linked.

That's right so try not to have to much activity , don't call in for anything and try to sell perfect not to draw attention but know it will go down hopefully you can get 3 months or more which would be great.

Start building accounts now and in 3 months they will be ready for action

Calling in is the Kiss of death, I know it's tempting to call to get higher limits but the last thing you need is to get ebay/Paypal looking into your accounts.

this is something I wanted to ask since some time. Is it really possible (I mean there is experience end evidence) they are linking by password?
Passwords should be MD5-encrypted or crypted by means of other types of encryption (crypt(3) and/or SHA-1) it should not be possible even for the admin to access password content. It could be resetted but not seen.
Any informations on this?

While the best practice is to keep all info different - if it's ONLY the password that is same, I doubt that's a strong link. Too many people use the same password (possibly).

@OP, welcome to the forums. IF the accounts are linked in any fashion, the other account could go down - it's risky. All the best.

Yea I doubt by password only so I always use different passwords just to be safe, but just say u use same name , same passwords, same listings , you see how your building a link , alone name and password are not strong but together on many accounts could be a problem.

The thing u did I think was use the same address which is a strong link I'f the address is blacklisted than anyone at the address usually not always gets suspended

MM78 you are so right the "kiss of death" calling eb. It was an expensive lesson calling & I lost a great verified account with a PP debit card which is still good.
