A little sales strategy discussion!

My main account is a TRS with all Premium Listings.

What is strange is my visibility is reasonable, I have watchers, however sales at the moment is slow.

Unusually slow for the visibility I am receiving, and the time of year.

I obviously know about all the games and glitches we face on EBay and all the rest of the tricks, but I am finding it very peculiar. I am also aware of the other threads experiencing similar issues.

I could not be bothered posting on Ebay as you always attract the usual smug ***** who disect your business!

I ship worldwide and was thinking of using International Visibility but obviously I have to pay for it.

Maybe just ride it out and things will improve?

I would have a look at your prices and the prices of your competitors first off. If they are undercutting you then that may be the reason for the slow sales.

International visibility is IMO always worth getting, and its relatively cheap. Just make sure you get the postage costs correct.

Play about with your listings a little, try experimenting different options such as BIN GTC or on small periods like 5 days to see if you can boost sales in-between time. Also look at titles as keywords are a big factor in how your listing is found and viewed. I often list the same item but vary it up and compare them. I then end others not working well and go with what works well.

Of course James has hit the nail on the head in that your competition is one of the major factors as is price. Try doing a little research on what your competitors are doing and also how they are listing the same item.

I have tested this over and over to try and get a brand new accounts item to the top or to get traffic.

I found that keywords and social media will bring the traffic to your items but if your price is not competitive then you are done in most cases.

its strange out there.... i have comp below me..and above me... it has slowed for some, it has not for others.

its way way down for me, like a light switch. ebays search engine drunk on the job? maybe.

my traffic hasn't really dropped, its just lack of bites, everyone is looking, nobody is buying.

Free BIN this week, its so slow I can't even stand to pay listing fees so im converting all my ended auctions over to Free Shipping BINs.

So you aren't the only one seeing strange things... :confused:

It is very very strange for me at the moment.

Prices are right, everything is right.

I noticed a change when Ebay altered a key part of the site in the area I am selling this month.

I was actually thinking today, this Forum is going to get busier and busier. The policies they have are insane, it is so anti-business it is ludicrous.

Yea last week i went 4 days in a row without 1 single sale.


You know when the last time that has happend to me......... NEVER! my prices haven't changed, nothing its been clockwork for 2 years.. now the dead zone?

Guess What?

I am selling again, a few last night and a few today.

One of which is to Belgium which is rare for me.

By the way it appears you cannot leave feedback on the UK site at the moment, there is a thread on the UK site.

Hopefully there are making it harder to leave low DSR's!

eBay and PP are getting more and more glitchy, they seem to want to do more changes but in doing so they are leaving gaps in the process.

If it aint broke, dont try and fix it, unfortunately ebay seem to be doing the exact opposite. This year they have made some significant changes to alot of operations and I dont think they have implemented it correctly.
