Good Grief!
 

I have been posting quite a bit on these forums at the moment.

To be honest I'm nervous. Reading the EBay Banning threads on the chat rooms is seriously worrying. They are completely insane and out of control banning sellers who are over 0.01% on DSR's. And some of the smug posters who try and justify their actions are evil beyond words.

They are going to have to stop this DSR madness or their business will suffer big time.

Right, my personal situation is I have a legit account which is a TRS with no issues (Fingers crossed).

I have built up 8 stealth accounts since last Christmas, and not used any yet. I am aiming for 10. Only the receiving limit is not verified on these accounts.

The thing is, (and this may sound silly) I have a mental block about using any of the 8 to build up any history. I keep on promising myself to list one item on the 1st, sell, then rotate to 2, then the 3rd and so on.

But I don't want to screw up these Stealth Accounts!

Why does it have to come to this? It is crazy that we have to protect ourselves from this evil company!

Ebay seriously drains my confidence these days.....

Oh, and a huge thank you to all those involved in providing the Forum and advice on here, it can be a life saver.

Ebay may be the root of all evil, but keep in mind why we all put up with them...they do provide one of the largest Internet platforms in the world for us to make $$$.

Simply put, if you want to play in eBay's sandbox, then you need to follow their rules.

Stealth is about having a 2nd chance. Many of us have been more successful with our stealth accounts than our real accounts because we have learned to adapt over time.

Your plan of 10 accounts is good, it will help spread the sales around. If you have an issue with one of the stealth accounts, it only affects 10% of your business - very easy to manage and correct.

Continue to follow the stealth plan with these 10 accounts and you'll be fine.

To be honest I am lucky in that my strength is PC's, I have been building them all my life so I am confident with technology and Tracking techniques. (But not 100% on everything EBay may use).

I know someone who was banned from Paypal. They firstly took a rolling reserve which nearly totalled £12000, then a year later limited the account for 6 months!

Scary stuff, I just don't want to damage these Stealths!

donkeykong2012, I perfectly understand your fear but remember that a stealth account to be useful has to have good feedback and credibility... you have to start to build up some stars in there.

While eB drains confidence, the stealth method does work - couple your sales with low-end items with free shipping for good feedback boosting.

The stealth method does work, and works well. Just need to practise it. You may make mistakes at first, but so long as you learn from them you will be fine :)

Ebay is stepping up with the DSR restrictions so everyone needs to be aware.

Having an arsenal of backups is the way to go.

I said last March of this year here that someone is going to change as I feel it from ebay. They went with DSRs as a way to start toasting accounts a month or so ago and have not stopped since.

I have tons of accounts that are growing and building over time and set a record for sales this year on my own accounts so stealth works like a charm once you learn how to operate it.

the DSR dance!! i get TRS every few months then...POOF, tiny nick on shipping charges? im in line with everyone else and cheaper then others. :confused:
